New Retailer: Bath Junkie!

172 2nd Avenue N. #100. 255-9287. This store specializes in "made for you, by you" bath products. All of their products are custom-blended to customers' specifications right in the store. It is time to pamper yourself! Hours are Mon - Thurs, 11 am to 7 pm; Fri - Sat, 11 am to 8 pm and Sun, 11 am to 5 pm.

 

Events this Week

 

Live On the Green

Thurs, Sept 16. Public Square. 100 Courthouse Plaza. Gates open at 6 pm, performances start at 6:30 pm. Free. This weekly event highlights both local artists and national acts with Music City roots. The Apache Relay, Glossary, and Dr. Dog perform on Thursday, September 16. This free concert series continues every Thursday through October 14 in Public Square Plaza adjacent to the Metropolitan Courthouse. $3 parking available at the Metro Courthouse/Public Square Garage.

 

Great Nashville Duck Race

Sat, Sept 18. Riverfront Park. 11 am - 3 pm. Free. Benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee. Rubber ducks will be dropped from the Korean War Veterans' Memorial Bridge at 1 pm and will "race" down the Cumberland River to Riverfront Park. Lucky ducks reaching the finish line first will receive prizes (e.g., 1st place receives $10,000 cash). Adopt a duck for $5 to participate in the race by clicking here

 

Haute Swapping for a Cause

Sat, Sept 18. Velocity in the Gulch. 320 11th Avenue N. 5 pm - 10 pm. $30. Haute Swapping for a Cause is an alternative way to "thrift" shop, while supporting the Nashville community. Individual swappers can get together and exchange items from their closets, hang out in the Haute Lounge and participate in the silent auction. The clothing drop-off begins at 5 pm and the event begins promptly at 6 pm. Participants may bring up to six items to swap including clothing, shoes and purses. No more than six items allowed for the swap. The event is open to ladies 21 and older. Proceeds will support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

 

Cupcakes for a Cause at The Painted Cupcake

Mon, Sept 20 - Sun, Sept 26. The Painted Cupcake. 2 Arcade. 254-2263. For every strawberry, chocolate and vanilla cupcake sold from September 20 through September 26, $1 will be donated to Cupcakes for a Cause.

 

Lunchtime Concert Series

Tues, Sept 14. Main Library, Courtyard. 615 Church Street. 862-5800. 11:30 am. Free. Bring a lunch to the library courtyard and enjoy a concert every Tuesday through October 5. Popular Latin romantic ensemble Serenatta will perform on September 21.
