March for Babies walk: free; Superhero Sprint: $20 - $30; Run for Babies: $30 - $35
This two-mile walk presented by March of Dimes will raise funds to support babies' health. The walk (the oldest fundraising walk in the nation!) is free, but participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 to earn an event T-shirt. Plus, the Superhero Sprint (a kids' fun run) will take place before the walk at 8:30 am, and Run for Babies (a timed 5K experience) will begin at 9 am. Stick around after the walk/run for festivities until 11 am. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, 3rd Avenue South (John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge to Broadway), Broadway (3rd Avenue to 2nd Avenue), 2nd Avenue North (Broadway to Union Street), Union Street (2nd Avenue North to 1st Avenue North), Woodland Street (Union Street to South 1st Street), South 1st Street (Woodland Street to Russell Street), Russell Street (South 1st Street to Titans Way), Titans Way (Russell Street to Victory Avenue), Victory Avenue (Titans Way to South 1st Street) and South 1st Street (Victory Avenue running south out of downtown). Closures begin as early as 9 am and end as late as 10:30 am on Saturday, April 22.
