In commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the May 2010 flood, Nashvillians are invited to join Mayor Karl Dean and other community leaders for a ceremony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The event, Voices Rising: Remembering One Year Later, will include performances by musicians with the Nashville Symphony and other well-known Nashville artists. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their flood stories with the Nashville Public Library for the Nashville Flood Digital History Project, and also get a first look at a traveling flood exhibit that will be on display this summer at community centers and other locations throughout Davidson County. (Originally scheduled for the Shelby Street Bridge - new rain location is the Schermerhorn Symphony Center).
