New Clothing Store - Urban Outfitters!

Urban Outfitters. 405 12th Avenue South. 254-3339. Featuring women and men's apparel, shoes and accessories, plus items for the home. Store opens Thursday, March 26 with a free concert by Will Hoge at 6:30 pm. Urban Outfitters has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank during their grand opening weekend. Please bring canned goods to donate. Hours are Mon - Sat, 10 am - 9 pm and Sun, 11 am - 8 pm.

Lights Out, Nashville: Earth Hour

Sat, Mar 28. Earth Hour. Lower Broadway and throughout Nashville. 8:30 pm. Free. Nashville's famous honky-tonks, landmarks, high rises, and icons will go dark for one hour. Our city will join thousands of cities worldwide in this effort. Landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House and more locations worldwide will also go dark in honor of Earth Hour. The Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and the Metro Courthouse will be lit green all weekend until going dark at 8:30 pm on Saturday. People magazine has covered the story about Nashville's Earth Hour. Earth Hour Concert and Lights Out Celebration

Sat, Mar 28. Earth Hour. Sommet Center Plaza. 501 Broadway. 7:30 pm. Free.

Come downtown to watch the lights go out! Free concert by Jo Dee Messina and a presentation by Mayor Karl Dean. The Mayor will ceremoniously turn off the lights to the city at 8:30 pm. Afterwards, Messina will perform her new single, Shine.


Team Green Flashlight Hike
Sat, Mar 28. LP Field, Woodland Street Bridge. 8 pm. Free. Team Green will lead a flashlight hike featuring a view of downtown turning off its lights for Earth Hour. Bring your flashlight! This event is family and dog friendly. Remember to turn your lights off at home before you join the hike.

 

Acoustic Performance at The Stage

Sat, Mar 28. The Stage. 412 Broadway. 8:30 pm. When the Stage's neon sign shuts off, the music will go acoustic! Mitch Oglesby will play an acoustic performance in celebration of Earth Hour.

Nashville Predators Game Two Hours Early!

Sat, Mar 28. Sommet Center. 501 Broadway. 770-PUCK. 5 pm. $26 & up. Watch the Preds take on the L.A. Kings. The puck drops two hours early. Preds fans are encouraged to stay downtown and celebrate Earth Hour after the game is over.

 

Walk in Their Shoes 5K

Sat, Mar 28. Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. 9 am. $10. A 5K to raise awareness about sexual assault. Plus, a donation drive for Soles4Souls. Over 3,000 shoes will be collected and will line the Shelby Street Pedestrial Bridge. Registration available by phone 259-9055 x324 or onsite the day of the event (at the East end of the bridge).

 

Nashville Lifestyles' Bridal Show

Sat, Mar 28. Schermerhorn Symphony Center. One Symphony Place. 259-3636. 11 am - 2 pm. $40. A mimosa luncheon featuring guest speaker Tara Guérard, author of Southern Weddings. Over 20 local vendors will be on hand to help plan the big day.


Nashville Ballet presents Ferdinand the Bull

This presale includes tickets for the first two potential Predators home games during the first round of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In the event the Preds do not make the playoffs, a full refund will be issued.
