New Restaurant - The Ivy!

The Ivy. 172 2nd Avenue North #110. 730-5436. This restaurant's menu includes stuffed croissant French toast, omelet paninis, salads, stuffed spuds, muffulettas, turkey bacon melts, and more. Hours are Mon - Sat, 7 am - 7 pm and Sun, 8 am - 5 pm.

Urban Design Forum: Museums in the 21st Century

Thurs, Jun 18. Frist Center for the Visual Arts. 919 Broadway. 244-3340. 5:30 pm. Free. The Nashville Civic Design Center hosts this urban design forum. Frist Center Associate Curator Trinita Kennedy will offer a short presentation on a selection of building projects included in Museums in the 21st Century: Concepts Projects, Buildings.

 

First Tennessee Summer Festival

Fri, Jun 19 - Sat, Jun 20. Schermerhorn Symphony Center. 7:30 pm. $32.50 - $72.50. Leonard Slatkin conducts Brahm's Symphony No. 2 in D major, Max Bruch's Concerto for Violin No. 1 and Joan Tower's Made in America. 

 

Nashville Pride Festival

Sat, Jun 20. Riverfront Park. 11 am - 6 pm. Free. Live music, entertainment, vendors, food, and plenty of fun to celebrate the local GLBT community. Plus, a Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce market place. Performers include Deborah Cox, Kelly King, Jason Antone, Eric Hinman and The Adams, and Atomic Blonde. The festival emcee will be Lady Bunny.

 

Please note, ROAD CLOSURE: 1st Avenue between Demonbreun and Church Street will be closed on Saturday, June 20 from 4 am - 9 pm.

 

Nissan Taste of Music City

Sat, Jun 20. Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge. 5 - 9 pm. $45 in advance, $55 day of event. Admission includes food samples (from over 55 restaurants) and beverages (wine, beer, water, and more). A benefit for the Martha O'Bryan Center. Click here for a list of participating restaurants and to purchase tickets.

 

Please note, ROAD CLOSURE: Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (Gateway Bridge) will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, June 20 from 5 am - midnight.
