Featuring live music in a great 1st Avenue location! Hours are Mon - Thurs, 11 am - 9 pm; Fri - Sat, 11 am - 10 pm; and Sun, 11 am - 6 pm.

Wildhorse Saloon House Band Search Finale

Wed, July 1. Wildhorse Saloon. 120 2nd Avenue North. 902-8200. 6 pm. Free. Seven semi-finalists including the J.C. Andersen Band, Sunny Fitz, Lucas Hoge, Matt Ramsey, Les Richardson, Riverbilly, and Stony Run. The winning band will be named the next House Band for the Wildhorse Saloon.

 

Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman

Thurs, July 2. Ryman Auditorium. 7:30 pm. $24.50. Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder perform this week. Series continuing every Thursday night through July 30.

 

Art After Hours

Thurs, July 2. Various downtown art galleries. 5 - 8 pm. Free*. Nashville Association of Art Dealers presents a monthly event for art lovers and patrons to explore Nashville's diverse and growing art scene. On the first Thursday of each month participating galleries will remain open late inviting the public to enjoy art after work. Celebrate the start to the Independence Day holiday weekend with art! Downtown galleries participating include Estel Gallery, Rymer Gallery, The Arts Company, Tinney Contemporary and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. 25th Anniversary Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration

Sat, July 4. Riverfront Park. Music begins at 2 pm, fireworks show at 9:03 pm. FREE. Hailed as one of the best fireworks displays in the nation, this annual event attracts more than 100,000 spectators each year. Festivities begin at noon with the free Family Fun Zone, featuring fun inflatables. Pre-show live music will take place from 2 - 6 pm on the NowPlayingNashville.com First Stage featuring Frankie Ballard, The Grascals, Lee Roy Parnell and more. The official main stage concert will begin at 6:45 pm with Wynonna, The Gabe Dixon Band, Barry Scott, and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. This great party will conclude with the South's largest fireworks show at approximately 9:03 pm. Click here for more information about this event.

 

Fourth of July Music City 10K

Sat, July 4. Hilton Park. 225 5th Avenue South. 832-7649. 8 am. 10K run and a 5k run/walk. $30 registration ($15 for military). The downtown route includes sights like the Sommet Center, crossing over the Cumberland River on the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, the historic Ryman Auditorium, Broadway's honky-tonks, the Tennessee State Capitol, LP Field, The Hermitage Hotel, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and more. Complimentary refreshments.

 

Rooftop 4th of July Party at Aerial

Sat, July 4. Aerial (rooftop venue above Paradise Park and Big Bang). 411 Broadway. 251-9882. Doors open at 6 pm. $20 in advance, $30 at the door. Ages 21 and up. Cover charge includes a rooftop view of the fireworks, picnic style buffet including hamburgers, hot dogs, and dessert, plus two Sangria drink tickets. Cash bar and entertainment by DJ Lunchbox.

 

July 4th at the Copper Kettle

Sat, July 4. Copper Kettle. 94 Peabody Street. 742-5545. Gate opens at 11 am. Ages 21 and up The Copper Kettle has an incredible viewpoint for the fireworks. Their parking lot will be a beer garden and feature live music all day. Two types of admission. General admission for $10 with access to the beer garden. And re-entry privileges all day and night. VIP admission for $75, paid in advance only. VIP admission includes beer garden access, plus all day, no-wait access to the interior of the restaurant and the patio. This ticket also includes a lunch buffet from 11 am - 12:30 pm, dinner buffet from 5 pm - 7 pm, two free drink tickets, cash bar access, and more. Plus, re-entry privileges all day and night. 4th of July Beer Garden

Sat, July 4. Hard Rock Cafe's parking lot. 100 Broadway. 742-9900. $5 donation benefiting Musicians On Call. 3 pm - 10 pm. Cash bar featuring $5 beer and $3 bottled water. Re-entry allowed.

 

Summer Grill Party

Sat, July 4. Farmers' Market. 900 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. 880-2001. 11 am - 2 pm. Free. Take a bite out of summer at the Nashville Farmers' Market Summer Grill Party. Sample grilled veggies, listen to local music and support local agriculture and artisans.

 

In God We Trust 2009
Sat, July 4. Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. 600 James Robertson Parkway. 212-2447. 7 pm. Free. IGWT Choir and The Nashville Choir will sing a program of patriotic favorites. Bring chairs and blankets for comfortable amphitheatre seating. Stay afterwards and view the fireworks display from the park.

 

Dark Blue Television Series Screening Event

Thurs, July 9. Mercy Lounge. One Cannery Row. Free. 7 pm. TNT will host a free preview screening of their new television series Dark Blue, a show about under cover cops in L.A. Admission includes a complimentary dinner buffet and soft drinks. To gain access to this screening you must RSVP by Tuesday, July 7 to darkbluenashville@gmail.com.
