New art gallery - Plowhaus!

Plowhaus. 24 Arcade. 509-2576. Another great gallery addition to the Arcade! Hours are Fri, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm and Sat, 10 am - 4 pm. Also open for the First Saturday Art Crawl from 6 pm - 9 pm (first Saturday of each month).

Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman

Thurs, July 16. Ryman Auditorium. 116 5th Avenue North. 7:30 pm. $24.50. Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys with Jim Lauderdale. Series continues every Thursday night through July 30.

 

Wine Tasting Event at The Standard

Thurs, July 16. The Standard. 167 Rosa Parks Boulevard. 254-1277. 8 pm. $25 (including tax and gratuity). Wine pairing featuring a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Meritage, and Zinfandel. Each wine is paired with one course. This week: baked gulf oysters, pan seared gulf flounder, pappardelle, and roasted leg of lamb. Seating is limited. Call 254-1277 to make a reservation. This event continues every Thursday night and features different wine and food pairings each week.

 

Nashville Symphony Single Ticket On Sale Event

Sat, July 18. Schermerhorn Symphony Center. One Symphony Place. 687-6400. 10 am - 2 pm. All tickets for the Nashville Symphony 2009/10 season in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center will go on sale to the public. On site only, they will offer $15 tickets to most Thursday evening concerts in the SunTrust Classical Series (limit 4 tickets total). In addition, the first 100 people will receive a free Nashville Symphony tote bag. Plus, live radio remotes, cafe dining, Symphony store discounts, and guided tours.

URA Mixer at Cantina Laredo

Mon, July 20. Cantina Laredo. 592 12th Avenue South. 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Free. Join your downtown neighbors for happy hour. Meet the new Urban Residents Association board members and learn about the URA's Merchant Access Program. Cantina Laredo will offer drink specials and complimentary appetizers. Also, free shuttle service will be provided by the Nashville Downtown Partnership. Pick up sites are the Viridian (415 Church), Stahlman (211 Union) and Encore (301 Demonbreun). The shuttle will pick up from 6:15 pm to 7 pm with drop offs at Cantina Laredo. The shuttle will stop at each pick up location every 13 minutes. The shuttle's return route from Cantina Laredo begins at 8:15 pm.

 

Lunch & Learn with Martha at the Farmers' Market

Judas Priest, Whitesnake and PopEvil perform at the Municipal Auditorium on Wednesday, July 22. For a limited time, buy two tickets and get two tickets free. Offer is valid from 10 am on Thursday, July 16 through 10 pm on Saturday, July 18. Purchase tickets online or through the Municipal Auditorium's box office. At the box office, ask for the "Buy Two, Get Two Free" discount.

The Nashville Downtown Partnership is seeking volunteer models for photo opportunities on Tuesday, July 21. Volunteers are needed from noon - 1 pm and/or 3 pm - 4 pm. This is volunteer only, unpaid, and no experience is necessary. If interested, please email achampion@nashvilledowntown.com with your availability.
