Book Discussion and Signing: The Eyes of Willie McGee Wed, July 21. Main Library. 615 Church Street. 5 pm. Free. Author Alex Heard will discuss and sign his new book, The Eyes of Willie McGee: A Tragedy of Race, Sex, and Secrets in the Jim Crow South. Davis-Kidd will be on-site to sell books at this free reception and book signing.

Join Trinita Kennedy, associate curator at the Frist Center, for a tour of The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947-1957. Sat, July 24. FIT Nashville. 125 12th Avenue S. 712-7340. 1 pm - 4 pm. $39 in advance, $49 at the door. Using the Krav Maga system, participants will learn techniques used effectively by civilians, law enforcement and military personnel.
Sun, July 25. LP Field (Lot R) and surrounding parts of downtown and East
Nashville. 415-3520. 7 am - 12:30 pm. $75 or $125 depending on race option,
free for spectators. Over 1,000 racers
are expected to participate in the 2nd Annual Music City Triathlon.
Swim the Cumberland River (1.5k),
bike through East Nashville (40k),
and run (10k) through downtown
Nashville. Plus, there is a shorter course option with a 400-yard swim,
20k bike, and
5k run. Non-racers
are encouraged to cheer on the participants!
Race
registration ends at midnight tonight.

The 3rd Annual Mayor's Home Ownership Fair is a one-stop shop for all home buying and home ownership answers.
