Sacred Soul Space: Tales of an Angel, a Snake, a Rat, and a Whale Fri, Aug 6. Christ Church Cathedral. 900 Broadway. 255-7729. 6 pm. Free. Tales of an Angel, a Snake, a Rat, and a Whale. Learn how these creatures bear strange witnesses to God's relationship with the men and women of the Old Testament. These artistic expressions will be presented in context of a worship service based on The Book of Common Prayer. Childcare is provided and a reception follows.
Sotheby's Urban Abode Art Crawl Sat, Aug 7. Bennie Dillon Lofts (700 Church Street) and The Cumberland (555 Church Street). 5 pm - 7 pm. Tour penthouse units and enjoy artwork by local artists and live music from local musicians. One penthouse will be open at the Bennie Dillon and two penthouses will be open at the Cumberland.
Nashville Rollergirls Final Home Games Sat, Aug 7. Municipal Auditorium. 417 4th Avenue N. Doors open at 4 pm, games start at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. $10 in advance, $15 at the door (ticket cost includes both games). The Music City All Stars take on the Ft. Wayne Derby Girls. Don't miss this chance to see Nashville's team tear up the track during their last two home games of the season.

Broadway Paving
Portions of Broadway will be re-paved from 2nd Avenue to 6th Avenue on Thursday, August 5. Broadway will remain open, but traffic lanes will be shifted during the process. Delivery trucks will not be allowed on the new pavement until it has properly cooled. Trucks are encouraged to utilize alleys. |
