Events this Week

 

Live On the Green

Thurs, Sept 10. Public Square. 100 Courthouse Plaza. Gates open at 5 pm, music starts at 6 pm. Free. This weekly event highlights local artists and national acts with roots in Music City. Here Come the Mummies, Space Capone, H-Beam, and The Spinderellas perform on Thursday, September 10. This free concert series continues every Thursday through October 8 in Public Square Plaza adjacent to the Metropolitan Courthouse. $3 parking available at the Metro Courthouse/Public Square Garage.


Buzzfest '09
Fri, Sep 11. Riverfront Park. Gates open at 3 pm. $29. 102.9 The Buzz's annual music festival. Featuring performances by Alice in Chains, Mudvayne, Chevelle, Cage The Elephant, Cavo, and Framing Hanley. ROAD CLOSURES: 1st Avenue from Broadway to Church Street will be closed from 8 pm on Thursday, September 10 until 5 am on Saturday, September 12.

 

26th Annual Home Decorating and Remodeling Show

Fri, Sept 11 - Sun, Sept 13. Nashville Convention Center. Fri: noon - 9 pm, Sat: 10 am - 9 pm, and Sun: 10 am - 6 pm. $8. Featuring over 600 exhibition booths showcasing home remodeling and decoration trends, designs, and more.
 

Classical Americana at the Symphony

Sat, Sept 12. Schermerhorn Symphony Center. One Symphony Place. 687-6400. 8 pm. $15 - $65. This concert will explore the strong links between classical music and American roots music. Performances by Alison Brown. Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Byron House, Buddy Miller, Karen Parks and Abigail Washburn.

 

Lunchtime Concert Series

Tues, Sept 15. Main Library, Courtyard. 615 Church Street. 862-5800. 11:45 am - 12:45 pm. Free. Bring a lunch and enjoy a concert every Tuesday through October 6. The Latin ensemble Serenatta will perform on September 15.
