Americana Music Festival

Wed, Sept 16 - Sat, Sept 19. Station Inn, 3rd & Lindsley, Mercy Lounge, and the Cannery Ballroom will host showcases through the end of the week. These concerts feature many great artists. Click here for the performance schedule. Wristbands for entry into all shows can be purchased.

 

Hermitage Hotel Celebrates 100 Years

Thurs, Sept 17. The Hermitage Hotel. Corner of 6th Avenue North and Union Street. 244-3121. Noon. Free. The Hermitage Hotel celebrates the beginning of it's 100th year with a free ice cream social. Festivities include a live ragtime band and Mayor Karl Dean will proclaim the day as "Hermitage Hotel Day." Nashvillians are invited to join the festivities!

 

Live On the Green

Thurs, Sept 17. Public Square. 100 Courthouse Plaza. Gates open at 5 pm, music starts at 6 pm. Free. This weekly event highlights local artists and national acts with roots in Music City. The Derek Trucks Band, Jack Pearson, Homemade Water and Rhythmystik perform. This free concert series continues every Thursday through October 8 in Public Square Plaza adjacent to the Metropolitan Courthouse. $3 parking available at the Metro Courthouse/Public Square Garage.

 

Perfect Pairings

Thurs, Sept 17. The Wine Loft. 503 12th Avenue South. 891-2967. $20 in advance, $25 at the door. 6 - 8 pm. Experience an evening of exquisite wines paired with a fine selection of hors d'oeuvres at downtown's newest wine bar.

 

Great Nashville Duck Race

Sat, Sept 19. Riverfront Park. 11 am - 3 pm. Free. Benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee. Rubber ducks will be dropped from the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge at 1 pm and will "race" down the Cumberland River to Riverfront Park. Lucky ducks reaching the finish line first will receive prizes (e.g., 1st place receives $10,000 cash). Adopt a duck for $5 to participate in the race by clicking here

 

Songwriters in the Park

Sat, Sept 19. Church Street Park. 1 - 4 pm. Free. Featuring performances by Rick Tiger, Matt Willis, Frank Taylor, Jeremy Rash and The Unlawful Kings. Plus, lawn games and family entertainment. Blankets, lawn chairs and dogs are also welcome.

 

7th Annual Wine on the River

Sat, Sept 19. Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. 3 - 7 pm. $45 in advance, $55 at the gate. Ages 21+. Unique atmosphere for wine novices and connoisseurs alike. Hundreds of wine samples from vineyards across the country and around the world. Live music by members of the Nashville Symphony, David Andersen, Trio San Rafael, and the Teri Reid Quartet. This event benefits l'Ete du Vin.

 

Lunchtime Concert Series

Tues, Sept 22. Main Library, Courtyard. 615 Church Street. 862-5800. 11:45 am - 12:45 pm. Free. Bring a lunch and enjoy a concert every Tuesday through October 6. Rockabilly artist David Tanner will perform on September 22.

 

Gilda's Club Dinner Fundraiser

Wed, Sept 23. Sole Mio. 311 3rd Avenue South. 256-4013. Sole Mio will donate 50% of all dinner food sales on September 23 to Gilda's Club of Nashville.
