New restaurant: Taste of Italy! Taste of Italy. 208 4th Avenue North. 732-2000. Menu features salads, pizza, pasta, seafood, calzones, stromboli, and much more. Take out and delivery are also options. BYOB is also permitted. Hours are Mon - Thurs, 10 am - midnight; Fri - Sat, 10 am - 2 am; and Sun, noon - 11 pm.
Taste of Italy joins a list of over 30 new restaurants and retailers that have opened downtown in 2009. See the list of the most recent twelve retailers here and the nineteen retailers that opened during the first half of 2009.

Widespread Panic and Allman Brothers Band Concert MOVED to Municipal Auditorium Wed, Oct 14. Municipal Auditorium. 417 4th Avenue North. 7 pm. $49.50. Tonight's concert originally scheduled for Riverfront Park has been moved to the Municipal Auditorium due to inclement weather. Tickets are still available for purchase.
Now through Sat, Oct 24. TPAC's Johnson Theater. Performance times vary. $41.50 - $46.50. Set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Based on the popular movie by the same name.
ArtDocs Nashville Urban Arts Bizarre Thurs, Oct 15. 5th Avenue and Arcade galleries. 6 - 9 pm. $10. An art auction that benefits artists without health insurance. Performances and appearances by the Nashville Roller Girls, Nashville Burlesque, graffiti artists, fire jugglers, and more. Food from Mas Tacos Por Favor, Bongo Java coffee, beer, and wine. Admission wristbands sold at the Arcade.

Urban Residents Association Bridge Ball Fri, Oct 23. Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. 498-5932. 8 pm - midnight. $35 - $50. Black tie optional. A night of dancing, networking and revelry on the bridge. Entertainment by DJ Kelly Farmer of Party Patrol. Admission includes hors d'oeuvres, dessert and a drink ticket. Cash bar available.

Nashville Predators Baby Supply Drive Thurs, Oct 15. Sommet Center. 501 Broadway. 770-7825. 6:05 pm. Cheer on the Preds as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Nashville Predators and Martha O'Bryan Center will collect baby supplies including diapers and formula. At the doors, donors will receive an exclusive discount ticket voucher for a future Predators game.
