Opening Ceremony & Walk with the Mayor

Join Mayor Karl Dean, Tom Turner (President and CEO of the Nashville Downtown Partnership), and your co-workers for the kick-off of the second annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week. Following a brief ceremony, the mayor will lead a 15-minute walk through downtown, and the first 500 downtown employees to cross the finish line* will receive a healthy complimentary lunch provided by The Pita Pit. And don’t be surprised if we throw a few other giveaways into the mix. After all, it is YOUR week!

Painting in the Plaza - Your Art Show Opens Soon!
Fifth Third Center Plaza, 424 Church Street

Join Nashville artist Todd Greene in creating an artistic masterpiece that will be displayed at downtown's First Saturday Art Crawl on November 5.  The artist will blend his work with downtown employees' contributions to create a dynamic mobile for display. Enjoy music and other creative activities on the plaza and along Fifth Avenue. And since it is Artober, you may witness "pop-up" activities led by local artists throughout the day.

Since it is Walk Nashville Week, the art project will be titled "Walk Your City." Get involved and celebrate downtown's walkability!

Everyone knows that Nashville attracts a musical crowd, but how often do we get to hear the talents of Nashville’s downtown employees? We’re searching for Downtown’s Next Superstar with an employee competition hosted and sponsored by CMT and Universal Music Group. If you are not one to sing, come listen to the music and enjoy free popcorn and snacks. Winners will receive copies of superstar CD releases from artists like Sugarland, George Strait, Billy Currington and more. And, the grand prize winner will receive an autographed guitar from one of UMG Nashville's superstar artists. Winners will be announced in this week's edition of Downtown Details.
