Music City Soul Series: Damien Horne

In celebration of Black History Month, the Music City Soul Series is a weekly concert offering the best in soul, jazz, and R&B every Thursday night in February.


A Public Workshop: Finding Inspiration for Public Art

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 11:30 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER FREE

The Metro Nashville Arts Commission, Music City Center, and the Nashville Civic Design Center are hosting a public workshop for interested Nashvillians to help find inspiration for public art at the Music City Center (Nashville's new convention center). Register for the workshop by email or call 615-862-6721. Registration is optional.


Rod McGaha, Jazz Trumpeter

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 7:30 PM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL $15 IN ADVANCE; $20 AT DOOR

Rod McGaha has made a name for his trademark laid-back jazz trumpeting. This concert will also showcase brand new compositions featuring the newly created big band, United for Peace Orchestra. The band was handpicked from the best of the Nashville jazz community.  Click here for tickets.


Family Program: Nashville Opera presents The Brothers Grimm

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 1 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM FREE

Nashville Opera On Tour presents the American premiere of Dean Burry's The Brothers Grimm. Follow Wilhelm and Jacob as they write the classic tales "Rapunzel", "Little Red Riding Hood", and "Rumpelstiltskin". Families are encouraged to tour the museum at a discounted rate following the program. Visit the information desk or ticket window for more information.

Egyptian Relics, Replicas and Revivals: Treasures from Tutankhamun

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27 - SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 4
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM FREE

A three-part exhibition exploring the art, history, and culture of ancient Egypt and its influence on Tennessee. This exhibit features ancient artifacts from the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology of the University of Memphis.


2nd Annual CountryMusicIsLove Concert Benefiting City of Hope

TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: HARD ROCK CAFE $20

City of Hope is one of the nation's leading research, treatment, and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year's CountryMusicIsLove benefit concert will feature acoustic performances by Josh Thompson, Chuck Wicks, Thompson Square, Brett Eldredge, Troy Olsen, Chris Cavanaugh, and Ty Brown. Whitney Duncan will host the evening. All proceeds benefit City of Hope. Click here for tickets.
