New Treat Shop: Sweet CeCe's!
319 12th Avenue South. This local favorite frozen yogurt shop just opened in The Gulch next door to the Turnip Truck. Treat yourself to a variety of fat free frozen yogurt flavors and a vast selection of toppings. Hours are Mon - Thurs, 11 am - 9 pm; Fri - Sat, 11 am - 11 pm; and Sun, noon - 9 pm.

New Retailer: ACC Secret!
22 Arcade. 497-0268. This shop features hair accessories and craft supplies. They offer craft classes the first weekend of every month. Hours are Mon - Fri, 10 am - 4 pm and the first Saturday of the month from 1 pm - 9 pm.

Kids Club: Magnificent Mandalas

LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Drawing on works of art from the exhibition Vishnu: Hinduism’s Blue Skinned Savior, participants will use bold color and precise geometry to create beautiful and elaborate patterns out of simple materials. Investigate how line and design are connected to art making in the Indian tradition. Kids Club is designed for ages 5 - 10, and registration is required. Call 615-744-3357 to reserve a space.


17th Annual Tom King Classic

Jazz on the Move: The Art of Composition with Jeff Coffin

SUNDAY, MARCH 13, 3 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

The Frist Center presents a modern musical master, saxophonist Jeff Coffin, in a rare discussion and demonstration of how he approaches composition. Besides being a local jazz icon, Jeff is known nationally and internationally for his work with Béla Fleck and the Dave Matthews Band. A gifted teacher as well as player, Jeff's insights will give the audience an understanding of how music is composed.


Winter Jam 2011

SUNDAY, MARCH 13, 6 PM

The Winter Jam 2011 tour spectacular includes performances by Tony Nolan, Jason Castro, Chris August, Sidewalk Prophets, KJ-52, NewSong, RED, Kutless, Francesca Battistelli, David Crowder Band and Newsboys. No ticket necessary; a $10 donation is suggested.


3rd Annual Stars Go Blue

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM $100

The Colon Cancer Alliance presents the 3rd annual "Stars Go Blue" benefit concert for colon cancer. This event benefits the Blue Note Fund, which provides financial support for colon cancer patients in need of financial assistance. "Couples in Country Music" is the theme for this year's concert and features Josh Turner and his wife and band member, Jennifer, along with Linda Davis and her husband singer/songwriter, Lang Scott. Also performing is “Stars Go Blue” creator Charlie Kelley with his wife, GAC personality Nan Kelley. Tickets include the intimate concert in the Ford Theater, a VIP cocktail reception, and an auction after the concert.
