Highlighted Events This Week

City Lights Tour

THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 6 PM - 10 PM
ENCORE, TERRAZZO, & ICON

This progressive party begins at the Encore. Next, party goers will visit the Terrazzo and then the ICON. Admission includes food and beverages from great downtown restaurants including Urban Flats, Sambuca, Watermark, The Wine Loft, Puckett's Gro. & Restaurant, Royal Icing, and Sweet CeCe's. Check our website for the tour route map, details about each venue, and free parking and transportation information. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door (at Encore from 6 pm - 7:30 pm) or in advance online by noon Thursday, April 14.
 

Live It Up! Downtown Home Tour

SUNDAY, APRIL 17, NOON - 6 PM
TEN DOWNTOWN CONDO AND APARTMENT BUILDINGS

Gather home decor ideas, see amazing views, shop for condos and apartments, and get an idea of what it's like to live in downtown Nashville! Over twenty individual units on display at ten downtown residential buildings. An assortment of private residences, model units, leasing centers, rental and purchase units, plus rooftop decks will be on display during the self-guided tour. The home tour website features general tour information, free parking info, and more. When you purchase your ticket, you will receive a tour map to help you plan your route.

Purchase tickets ($10) the day of the tour at the main ticket sales location at the Cohen Building or at satellite ticket locations at Encore and Terrazzo.

 

Stanley Cup Playoffs Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks

SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 5 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $26 - $270

The Nashville Predators host the Anaheim Ducks for game three of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs! The puck drops at 5 pm, but festivities begin at 2 pm with a party in the plaza featuring live music, games and more. In addition, all fans attending the game will receive rally towels courtesy of Land Rover Nashville. This is the Nashville Predators sixth playoff appearance in the past seven seasons. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online, by calling 615-770-PUCK or visiting the Bridgestone Arena box office. Go Preds!

Also, fans are encouraged to wear Nashville Predators colors, apparel or jerseys to work and school this Friday, April 15 - the date of game two, in Anaheim! "Whether you LIVE, WORK or PLAY downtown, show your true colors this Friday, April 15, by wearing Predators gear," said Nashville Downtown Partnership President and CEO Tom Turner. "It's no secret - hockey rules at Bridgestone on Broadway. And from honky tonk to hockey tonk, welcome to SMASHVILLE!"

Music City PHiNs' Birthday Bash

FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 8:30PM - CLOSE
LOCATION: JIMMY BUFFETT'S MARGARITAVILLE NASHVILLE $35

The Music City PHiNs (the local Jimmy Buffett fan club) will celebrate their 8th birthday with a night of great live music, an auction, appetizers and more. Ramajay Intercoastal (featuring Tall Paul and Quincy Yeates) will perform. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Monroe Harding Children’s Home.


Celebrate Life Easter Musical

FRIDAY, APRIL 15 - SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 7PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE FREE

Celebrate Life! is a dramatic, Life-of-Christ musical written by Ragan Courtney and Buryl Red. This musical shares the Good News of Jesus Christ in a compelling way. Performances feature First Baptist Nashville's Youth and Sanctuary Choirs & Orchestra, Ballet Magnificat, playwright Ragan Courtney, and Cynthia Clawson.


Community Shred Day

SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 10 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $5 PER BOX OF MATERIALS

Take the first step in protecting yourself from identity theft. Your old personal documents will be instantly destroyed by a Shred-It high-speed cross shredder. All shredded material will be recycled. All proceeds from the $5 per box donation will benefit Nashville Crime Stoppers. Receipts will be available for this tax deductible donation. Nashville Crime Stoppers' community partner for this event is Shred-It. This event will be held in LP Field's parking Lot D.

 

Taste of Nashville

SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 3 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $35

Sample food from over 20 local restaurants, enjoy live music by Thomas Cain, and participate in a silent auction. This event benefits the college scholarship fund for deserving senior students at Pearl-Cohn High School. Taste of Nashville will be held in the West Stadium Club of LP Field.

Introduction to Yoga

LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE $30 PER SIX-WEEK SESSION

Are you feeling tired, fat and stiff? Having problems bending over or turning your head from side to side? First Baptist Nashville offers a new Introduction to Yoga class, taught by Debbie Thurman. The class will be taught in the recreation center/gym of the church.


Iron Fork

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM $40

The Nashville Scene presents the fourth annual Iron Fork! This event showcases five of Nashville's best local chefs battling it out in a head-to-head competition that will be judged by top local "foodies" and celebrities. The winning chef will receive the prestigious "Gold Fork" award. Tickets include three drink tickets and samplings from over 30 local restaurants. Proceeds benefit the Martha O'Bryan Center.


Mark Wills
