Stanley Cup Playoffs Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, 7:30 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $26 - $270

The Nashville Predators host the Anaheim Ducks for game four of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs! The puck drops at 7:30 pm. Festivities begin at 4:30 pm with a party in the plaza featuring live music, games and more. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online, by calling 615-770-PUCK or visiting the Bridgestone Arena box office. Go Preds! If necessary, in this best of seven series, the Preds will take on the Ducks again on Sunday, April 24 at the Bridgestone Arena.


Green Business Summit

The 2011 Green Business Summit is focused on providing your organization with insights to grow your business and succeed in an increasingly "green" environment. Business models, practices and opportunities to help businesses stay competitive, improve profitability and grow market valuation will be explored. Keynote speakers are L. Hunter Lovins of Natural Capitalism Solutions and Don Moseley, Director of Sustainable Facilities for Wal-Mart. New this year: a consumer expo partnership with the Living Well Sustainable Marketplace (April 22 - 23).


Art & Music

THURSDAY, APRIL 21, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: ALFRED WILLIAMS & COMPANY

Opening reception for "Art & Music," an art exhibition, benefit, and sale. Curated by Fogle Fine Art & Davis Art Advisory, the exhibitions bring together the creative industries of art, design, architecture, and music. "Art & Music," the premiere exhibition, showcases paintings, photographs and sculpture by artists whose work is inspired by music. The event benefits ArtDocs, a local non-profit which provides free basic medical care for uninsured artists and musicians in Nashville. Exhibition on display through July 2.

 

Transit Now Nashville's Transit Week Progressive Dinner

FRIDAY, APRIL 22, 5:30 PM

Events planned during Transit Week highlight public transit options in Nashville. Friday's progressive dinner begins at Past Perfect at 5:30 pm, progresses to Puckett's at 7:15 pm, and concludes at the The Wine Loft at 9:30 pm. Participants will use the Music City Circuit to get to all of the venues during this dinner. Tickets are $15 and include light appetizers at Past Perfect and the cover charge at Puckett's. Living Well Sustainable Marketplace

FRIDAY, APRIL 22 - SATURDAY, APRIL 23, FRIDAY: NOON - 7 PM, SATURDAY: 10 AM - 7 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER FREE, WITH A RECYCLABLE ITEM

The Living Well Sustainable Marketplace is a two-day environmentally friendly event showcasing companies, agencies, and organizations in the Southeast that provide products, services, resources, and information for attendees to make more ecologically sustainable lifestyle choices.


Nashville Rollergirls Home Opener

SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 5:30 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM $8 - $10

The Music City Brawl Stars and Music City All Stars take on the South Central region's top team, the Kansas City Roller Warriors, in the first doubleheader of the season. The Nashville Rollergirls are coming off an undefeated home season, which makes them third in the division rankings and eighteenth in the nation.

Easter morning worship at 10:30 am with a sermon entitled "When God Surprises You at Easter." Bible Study at 9 am. 


Easter at Christ Church Cathedral

SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 8:30 AM AND 11 AM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL

Sunday of the Resurrection Holy Eucharist services at 7 am, 8:30 am, and 11 am. Other Holy Week services include Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist with foot-washing and stripping of the altar at 6 pm. Good Friday services at 8:30 am and 12:15 pm.


Easter at the Downtown Presbyterian Church

SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 11 AM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Easter worship service at 11 am. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 am. On Thursday, April 21, Maundy Thursday meditiation service at 7 pm following dinner at 6 pm. After the service, stay for the film, Make Way for Tomorrow, part of the Lenten Film Series.


Easter at First Lutheran

SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 7 AM AND 10:30 AM
LOCATION: FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH ELCA

Easter Sunday's schedule includes services at 7 am and 10:30 am. Additional Holy Week services are Maundy Thursday service on April 21 at 7 pm and Good Friday services at noon and 7 pm on April 22.

Nashville Rises Documentary Screening

Join Congressman Jim Cooper for a special screening of the award-winning short documentary, Nashville Rises by local filmmaker Zac Adams. The screening will be held in the library's auditorium. Reception at 4:30 pm, screening at 5 pm, and remarks by filmmaker Zac Adams and special guests at 5:30 pm.
