News & Information

New seafood market: Louisiana Seafood Company!
Nashville Farmers' Market - 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. 615-499-6865. This new seafood company inside the Market House at the Nashville Farmers' Market features fresh seafood from the gulf. Selections change weekly. Past offerings include grouper, cobia, redfish, mahi mahi, jumbo shrimp, bags of live crawfish, and shucked oysters. Hours of operation are Friday - Saturday, 8 am - 6 pm and Sun, 9 am - 2 pm.

 

4th of July Events

A Prelude to the 4th

SUNDAY, JULY 3, 6 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK FREE

Celebrate Independence Day with a pre-party on Sunday, July 3 in Riverfront Park. The fun starts with a free concert at 6 pm featuring Port Chuck, Lighter Ray, The Dirty Guv'Nahs and fireworks at approximately 9:30 pm!

 

4th of July Ledge Party

MONDAY, JULY 4, 5 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: HARD ROCK CAFE $40

Enjoy Music City's 4th of July Celebration at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Ledge, the cafe's outdoor deck with great views of the fireworks. The admission fee ($40) includes a dinner buffet featuring American fare and free admission to the After Party at 10 pm with performances by Stephen Salyers & Friends. Call 742-9900 x106 to make reservations for the Ledge Party. Also, on the 4th, the Hard Rock Cafe's parking lot will serve as a beer garden from 6 pm to 11 pm and is open to anyone, no reservations needed. Cash bar.


Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Spectacular

MONDAY, JULY 4, GATES OPEN AT NOON, FIREWORKS SHOW AT 9:30 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK FREE

Hailed as one of the top five fireworks displays in the nation, this event is one of Music City's best events. Festivities begin at noon with the free Family Fun Zone. Pre-show live music from 12:30 pm - 7 pm featuring The Jompson Brothers, Ayla Brown, The Willis Clan, The Cleverlys and The Dirty Guv'Nahs. The official main stage concert begins at 7 pm with Street Corner Symphony, Darius Rucker and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. This celebration concludes with amazing fireworks choreographed to the sounds of the Nashville Symphony playing on the banks of the Cumberland River at approximately 9:30 pm.

Urban Sun Pre 4th of July Party and Sale

THURSDAY, JUNE 30, 5 PM - 7 PM
LOCATION: URBAN SUN FREE

Customer Appreciation Party featuring refreshments, entertainment, and tanning specials. The two-day sale (June 30 and July 1 only) includes buy one, get two free sunless spray tanning ($29.95), ten level two sessions for $60 (regularly $99.95), and six rejuvansun sessions for $50 (regularly $84.95).


Author Talk and Book Signing: Roy Blount, Jr.

FRIDAY, JULY 1, 6:15 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

Author of Alphabetter Juice: or, the Joy of Text, Blount is a well-known writer and essayist, and a panelist on NPR's weekly “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.” Reception, author talk, and signing.
 

The National 9/11 Flag

SATURDAY, JULY 2, 11 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: HILTON NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN FREE

Honoring the 10th anniversary of 9/11, The National 9/11 Flag Tour makes a stop in Nashville on Saturday, July 2. Visitors are invited to a stitching ceremony with local and NYC service heroes at 11 am. Stitching will be open until 2 pm and the flag will remain on display until 5 pm.

Not Alone Freedom Fest

SUNDAY, JULY 3, NOON
LOCATION: HILTON PARK FREE

Throughout this event, local police, fire and military heroes will be honored. Enjoy live music and delicious food from B.B. King’s, Hooters, and additional restaurants. Cool off in the Budweiser beer tent, enjoy specialty items from unique vendors, and say a special thank you to all of those who serve. Musical performances by Sal Gonzalez, The Invite, Ayla Brown, The Springs and Rockit City.

4th of July road closures are progressive and will be phased in beginning Friday, July 1:

Beginning at 8:15 am:
- Riverfront Park Court of Flags

Saturday, July 2:
Beginning at 6 am:
- 1st Avenue South between Broadway and Demonbreun
- Broadway between 1st and 2nd Avenues
- Broadway between 2nd and 3rd Avenues

Sunday, July 3:
Beginning at 6 am:
- Broadway between 3rd and 4th Avenues
- 1st Avenue North between Church and Union
- Gay Street Connector between 1st and 2nd Avenues
- Bank Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues
- Church Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues

Monday, July 4:
Beginning at 6 am:
- 2nd Avenue North and South between Church and Demonbreun
- 3rd Avenue North and South between Commerce and Demonbreun
- Commerce Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues
Beginning at 8 pm:
- Woodland Street Bridge
- Union Street from 2nd Avenue to the bridge
- Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge
- Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge (will reopen immediately upon the conclusion of the fireworks show)

All roads will reopen no later than 6 pm on Tuesday, July 5.

 

Also, please note these closures due to the I Run for the Party July 4th Music City 5K/10K. Race begins at 8 am on Monday, July 4.

Modeling Opportunity

The Nashville Downtown Partnership needs "models" to pose in photos on Thursday, July 7. You do not have to be a professional model. We are seeking people who enjoy having their photo taken. This is a volunteer opportunity and is unpaid. If you are available on Thursday, July 7 and would like to participate, please email Andrea. Time slots and details about the day will be sent to you.
