Downtown's Next Superstar: Winners!
Thanks to all who attended today's fantastic Downtown Employee Appreciation Week event, Downtown's Next Superstar! We are blessed with amazing talent in downtown Nashville. Congratulations to Jessica Plansky (Tennessee Performing Arts Center employee), the winner of today's contest! First runner up was L.B. Ballard, a CMT employee, and second runner up was Brittany McLamb, an employee at ServiceSource. A big thanks to all performers!
 

New retailer: Two Old Hippies!

Downtown Employee Appreciation Week: Corporate Tug of War & Lunches on the Green

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 11 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE PARK FREE

Bring your co-workers for lunch in Public Square Park while you watch corporate teams vie for the title of Downtown Nashville’s Tug of War Champion! The winning company scores a catered lunch from a downtown restaurant of their choice and "Office Bragging Rights." Click HERE to sign up your team (10 people required - register by 8 am on Thursday, October 6)! Lightning Lunch food trucks the Nashville Weiner Company and Riffs will be on site from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.


Downtown Employee Appreciation Week: Party with the Preds!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2 PM - 4 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

Spend time in Smashville! Join the Nashville Predators and Fifth Third Bank for a party on Bridgestone Arena’s Plaza. Meet Nashville Predators personalities, including GNASH and the Dancers/Ice Girls while enjoying live music, ice cream provided by Purity Dairies, and games. Pick up some free Predators items and register to win exciting prizes (Disney on Ice tickets, Predators game tickets, autographed items, and more). Predators game tickets will also be available at a discounted rate for downtown employees! The Fifth Third Financial Empowerment eBus will be on-site offering free credit reports and mobile financial services.


Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Join the celebration as 65 Disney characters from eighteen beloved stories come to life in Disney on Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic! Characters include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio and many Disney Princesses. Plus, exciting moments from The Lion King; Mulan; and Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Toy Story films.


Live on the Green

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE PARK GENERAL ADMISSION: FREE; VIP: $45

Enjoy live music outside in Public Square, located in front of the Metro Courthouse. The weather should be perfect for this concert! Blankets, folding chairs, strollers, and water bottles are welcomed at this free concert series.

The CenturyMen

Experience a concert of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs presented by the Grammy and Dove Award nominated male chorus, The CenturyMen. These professional musicians represent 20 states and one international country.

 

Concerts in the Courtyard: Sara Sant'Ambrogio

The library's hit music series continues with the final concert of the series! Bring your lunch to the courtyard and enjoy a performance by Sara Sant'Ambrogio.


Men's High Heel Race

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, REGISTRATION: 5:30 PM; RACE START TIME: 6 PM
LOCATION: HILTON PARK $25 REGISTRATION FEE; FREE FOR SPECTATORS

The Men's High Heel Race is a light-hearted fundraiser that benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Guys, grab a pair of heels and stumble and laugh your way through the short course. Ladies, come cheer them on. Best legs competition held at the event. After-party and awards immediately following at Bootleggers on Broadway.


Cookin' Out Country with The Roys

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 11 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM $15

Head to the Country Music Hall of Fame for lunch! A live performance by The Roys at noon with an autograph signing immediately following. The Roys will also be the guest cooks of the day! Use the Music City Circuit to get down to the Hall. (Downtown employees: Be on the lookout on the Downtown Nashville Facebook page for a contest to win FREE tickets to this event).

Guidebooks Are Available

The current edition of The Guidebook, our downtown retail, restaurant and amenity resource book, is available. Copies are available at most downtown hotels, restaurants, retailers, the Urban Market, the Visitor Information Center in the Bridgestone Arena, Arcade shops and restaurants, Lower Broadway bars, restaurants and stores, and many other locations! If your downtown business would like 80 or more books delivered to your location, please let us know. It is a great resource for large groups, conventions, and new downtown employees and residents.
