Red Rover now offers grooming!
A new grooming salon is now open at Red Rover Pet Services. Appointments are available Tuesday through Saturday.

 

New $5.99 lunch at the Wildhorse Saloon!
A new lunch offering featuring a chef's market table, hot bar, and salad bar for $5.99 from 11 am - 3 pm. Plus, downtown employees can get a lunch punch card, good for a free lunch on the sixth visit.

Wicked

LOCATION: TPAC - TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER $25 - $155

Entertainment Weekly calls Wicked "the best musical of the decade," and when it first played Nashville in 2009, it broke box office records and sold out in record time. Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, Wicked is Broadway's biggest blockbuster and was just named "the defining musical of the decade" by The New York Times. Before Dorothy arrived in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. The story of how these two become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

When floodwaters closed the Schermerhorn, Christopher Cross performed a free outdoor concert for the people of Nashville, a moving and memorable moment in the city's history. This fall, he returns to perform with the orchestra, this time buoyed by the Schermerhorn's outstanding acoustics. This can't-miss event will feature hits including "Sailing," "Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)" and "Ride Like the Wind."

 

The District's 25th Annual Progressive Party

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: HOTEL INDIGO $50 IN ADVANCE; $60 DAY OF THE EVENT

The 25th Annual Progressive Party begins at the Hotel Indigo (315 Union), continues to Printers Alley (between Church and Union), and ends at Whiskey Bent Saloon (306 Broadway). Tickets include complimentary parking, delicious food from downtown restaurants, wine and beer. Plus, musical entertainment at each stop. Ruble and Brenda Sanderson will receive the 2011 Spirit of The DISTRICT Award. Purchase tickets in advance online or buy at the event by arriving at Hotel Indigo by 7 pm (before the party progresses to the second location). Proceeds from this event go to support The DISTRICT's holiday decorations and other projects of The DISTRICT.


The Art of Jack Daniel's

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 6 PM
LOCATION: WAR MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM $30

The first event in The Art Of series, a fun and educational spirits and beer tasting series. This tasting experience will be led by Jeff Norman, the Jack Daniel Distillery's Master Taster. Enjoy tastings of the world-famous Tennessee distillery’s family of brands: Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel and the new Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey. Plus, food from Jim and Nick's BBQ. Proceeds will benefit TPAC Education. Purchase an "Artful Taster" package for $75 and attend all three events including "The Art of Yazoo Brewery"  on February 23 and "The Art of Corsair Distillery" on April 5.
 


The House The Beatles Fans Built

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 11 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: 417 UNION RESTAURANT & BAR FREE

Calling all Beatles fans! Book signing and meet and greet with Beatles' authors May Pang, Nancy Lee Andrews, Richard Courtney and George Cassidy. Proceeds from book sales will help fund The House the Beatles Fans Built, a new program benefiting Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity.


Haunted Museum

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, NOON - 4 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM FREE

The "ghost trail" through the museum features prizes and crafts. At stops along the trail there will be chilling ghost stories from Tennessee's past including "The Legend of Davy Crockett." The trail concludes at the tall tales stage where professional storytellers will relate stories about Tennessee. Complimentary refreshments. Costumes are encouraged. Haunted Museum visitors may park for free in the state employee parking lots north and west of the State Capitol.


Hands On Creativity

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22 - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 11 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: PLAZA ARTIST MATERIALS AND PICTURE FRAMING FREE

This two-day event features free art demos, free samples and multiple "make it, take its." See how various art supplies are used; silkscreen your own t-shirt; try your hand at watercolor, oils, origami, markers; make your own artist trading cards and much more!

 

Titans Ultimate VIP Tailgate

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 9:30 AM - NOON
LOCATION: HARD ROCK CAFE FREE

Join 104.5 The Zone and Coors Light for the ultimate VIP tailgating experience. This event is scheduled before every Titans home game at the Hard Rock Cafe. Meet and greet with Mark Howard and former Titans Blaine Bishop and Kevin Dyson. Enjoy appetizers and Coors Light drink specials. Valet conveniently at the Hard Rock and walk over to the game.

 

Silver Stars at the Ryman

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 4 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: RYMAN AUDITORIUM FREE

The 4th annual Silver Stars talent competition features singers and musicians from Nashville and Memphis performing before a live audience and celebrity judges to win $7,500 in prize money. This family show includes a variety of entertainment – from blues, country and gospel music to jazz and Latin vocals. Celebrity judges include R&B/rock singer Bonnie Bramlett, Fleetwood Mac’s Billy Burnette, and Country Music Hall of Famer Mel Tillis. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a free Silver Stars CD.


Cookin' Out Country with Aaron Tippin

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 11 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM $15

Head to the Country Music Hall of Fame for lunch! A live performance by Aaron Tippin at noon with an autograph signing immediately following. Aaron will also be the guest cook of the day! Use the Music City Circuit to get down to the Hall.
