Book Signing and Reading with Sister Helen Prejean

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 7 PM - 8:30 PM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL FREE

Sister Helen Prejean, author and Pulitzer Prize nominee for her book, Dead Man Walking, will offer a free book reading and signing. Prejean has been at the forefront of anti-death penalty advocacy for nearly three decades. In addition to counseling individual death row prisoners, she spends her time educating citizens about the death penalty and its consequences for society in general.

 

Block & White Party

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 8:30 PM
LOCATION: VIRAGO $40

The 4th Annual Block and White Party will benefit the Jay Cutler Foundation, which supports children with diabetes. Complimentary cocktails, wine, and appetizers. The dress for the party is black and/or white, upscale casual/cocktail attire. Click here for tickets.

 

Halloween Thursday Bar Crawl

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 9 PM - 3 AM

Celebrate Halloween early at this Thursday night bar crawl. Locations include McFadden's, Chase's Saloon, Wild Beaver, Big Shotz, The Attic above Piranha's, Benchmark and more. The $10 event fee includes admission to all of the bars and drink specials exclusive to bar crawl attendees. Dress in your best costume for this event.


The ICM Country Music Awards and PINK Carpet Gala

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $50 - $125

The 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards will be co-hosted by GAC-TV host Storme Warren and Inside Edition's Megan Alexander. The annual Inspirational Country Music Awards are dedicated to honoring and showcasing the biggest names and emerging talent among artists who perform inspirational country music. Award nominees include Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Ronnie Dunn, The Band Perry, Josh Turner, Randy Travis, Ricky Skaggs, The Isaacs, and George Strait. Performances by the Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, Ricky Skaggs, Guy Penrod, Buddy Jewell, Chuck Day, and more. A special “pink carpet” roll-out is planned before the event for honoree breast cancer survivors to enter the show as VIP guests. Pink carpet begins at 6 pm and the awards show begins at 8 pm. Nashville Ballet Presents: Cinderella

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28 - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, FRIDAY & SATURDAY: 7:30 PM; SUNDAY: 2 PM
LOCATION: TPAC - TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER $35 - $82

With a classic score by Sergei Prokofiev performed by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and original choreography by Paul Vasterling, Nashville Ballet presents the classical fairy tale ballet Cinderella. Company members, apprentices, second company and a youth cast will dance in this large-scale production. This newly created production includes 18th Century period costumes in contemporary color palettes and impressionist sets never before seen in Nashville.

Shop "under the stars" at the Night Market! Enjoy shopping, wine from the cash bar, beverages from merchants, live music, free samples, artisan booths, and much more. Night Market will be held both inside the Market House and outside in the farm sheds, with all Market House restaurants and shops open. Fall is in the air with apples, pumpkins and more of your favorite Fall treats.


Gettin' Spooky With It

Costume contest, beer, food from The Deg Thai food truck, music by Get Better, games, and awesome prizes at this early evening costume party. Halloween Bash with The Spazmatics

Nashville's ultimate Halloween party featuring two nights of great bands, DJs, and more at Mercy Lounge and the Cannery Ballroom. Saturday night features Who's Bad?, the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band and Nashville's 80's party all-stars, Guilty Pleasures, in the Cannery Ballroom. GenerARTsity Showcase Sunday

LOCATION: MCKENDREE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FREE

GenerARTsity features works from over twenty artists in a variety of mixed media including oil painting, sculpture, photography, quilting, jewelry, ceramics, printmaking and more. Plus, enjoy live music and poetry. The event will be held in the main lobby of the church. Art activities will be available for children up to age 7 and childcare will be provided for children up to age 5. Proceeds from artwork sold will benefit McKendree's homeless outreach program.
