South Pacific

THROUGH SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, PERFORMANCE TIMES VARY
LOCATION: TPAC - TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER $28 - $65

Set on a tropical island during World War II, this musical tells the sweeping romantic story of two couples -- US Navy nurse Nellie Forbush and French plantation owner Emile de Becque and Navy Airman Joe Cable and a young local native girl Liat -- and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices. Considered by many the finest musical ever written, the score includes classics such as "Some Enchanted Evening," "I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," and "Bali Ha’i."

 

Weight Watchers At Work Meeting Series

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9 - THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 11 AM - NOON

Music City Soul Series: Regi Wooten & Friends

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 7 PM

In celebration of Black History Month, the Music City Soul Series is a weekly concert offering the best in soul, jazz, and R&B every Thursday night in February. This week catch performances by Regi Wooten& Friends and Saaneah.


A Swing 'N Country Valentine's Dance Party

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 7 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE BALLROOM $10

A night of West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, and Country dancing. Plus, a fabulous floor show and light hors d'oeuvres. The group class at 7 pm is great for dancers of all levels. Social dancing begins at 8 pm.


5th Annual Art for Animals

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 7 PM - 9:30 PM
LOCATION: TINNEY CONTEMPORARY $40

Nashville Paw magazine and the Nashville Paw Foundation host their 5th Annual Art for Animals. Enjoy a complimentary wine and beer, gourmet cheese and cupcakes. Browse over 25 pieces of original local artwork and shop the boutique-style silent auction to find perfect Valentine's Day gifts and more! Since the launch of this event, Art for Animals has raised over $23,000 for spay and neuter efforts in Middle Tennessee.


Antiques & Garden Show

Celebrating its 22nd year, The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville is the largest of its kind in the country, offering over 150 antique and horticultural booths and landscaped gardens. The show brings together nationally and internationally-renowned experts and exhibitors in the fields of antiques, decorative arts and landscape design. Organ Recital

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 3 PM - 4 PM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FREE

Dr. William R. Taylor will perform works by European and North American composers including Bach, Sowerby, Vierne, Widor, Milhaud, Vaughan Williams and more on the church's organ. A reception follows the recital and will be held in the fellowship hall.


Valentine's with Chris Janson and the LoCash Cowboys

Guidebooks Are Available

The current edition of The Guidebook, our downtown retail, restaurant and amenity resource book, is available. Copies are available at most downtown hotels, restaurants, retailers, the Urban Market, the Visitor Information Center in the Bridgestone Arena, Arcade shops and restaurants, Lower Broadway bars, restaurants and stores, and many other locations! If your downtown business or residence would like 80 or more books delivered to your location, please let us know. It is a great resource for large groups, conventions, and new downtown employees and residents.

Clean and Safe Request Form

If you notice something amiss while walking downtown, please let us know about it! Report graffiti that needs to be removed, public sidewalks that need pressure washing, weeds, trash and other unsightly items! Use this form to send a request directly to our Clean and Safe Team manager. NOTE: these services are only available in the CBID and the GBID (maps of these areas are provided on the form page).
