The Southern Women's Show returns to the Nashville Convention Center and you are invited to join the fun! Exhibitors showcase jewelry, handbags, makeup, delicious gourmet treats and much more! Great shopping and lots of samples. Plus, runway fashion shows, makeovers, cooking classes and a great line-up of guest speakers. At this year's show meet Deidre Hall from Days of Our Lives and see the "Royal Dresses of Diana: the People’s Princess" (a collection of her most famous gowns).
Join Her Nashville for Coffee and Conversation, a networking opportunity for Nashville's women. Enjoy breakfast, networking, and admission to the Southern Women's Show including "Royal Dresses of Diana: The People's Princess."
The Turnip Truck's meat and seafood manager, Ty Bass, will lead a tour and discussion of their full-service meat department which features a large variety of organic, grass-fed, and sustainably sourced meat and seafood. Advance registration is requested. All participants will receive a 10% discount on groceries purchased at the time of the class, as well as a $5 gift card toward grocery purchases during a return visit. This class will also be offered on Saturday, April 14 at 10 am.

The Cummins Station Community Arts Program's fourth annual Student Art Exhibition's opening. MTSU, TSU, Vanderbilt University, and Watkins College students will showcase a variety of media including drawings, paintings, graphic design works, and photography. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served. Artwork will be displayed in the building's first floor exhibition area. Validated parking is available.

LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA
The Nashville Predators host the Detroit Red Wings for game two of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs! The puck drops at 6:30 pm, but festivities begin at 3:30 pm with a party in the plaza featuring live music, games and more. This is the Nashville Predators seventh playoff appearance in the past eight seasons. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online, by calling 615-770-PUCK or visiting the Bridgestone Arena box office. Go Preds!
SUNDAY, APRIL 15, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Celebrate the grand opening of Cumberland Park with Mayor Karl Dean, MDHA and Metro Parks. Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 pm. Plus, live entertainment by the Nashville School of the Arts Pop Ensemble, Nashville Public Library's Puppet Truck, and the Nashville Children's Theatre. This new riverfront play park is located on the east bank between the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge.
MONDAY, APRIL 16 - SUNDAY, APRIL 22, VARIES BY EVENT
Events planned all week long from Monday, April 16 to Sunday, April 22 highlight public transit options in Nashville. Events include All Aboard with Mayor Karl Dean at Music City Central on April 16, take a free ride to the Nashville Farmers' Market on April 17, Transit Means Business at the AT&T Auditorium on April 18, Put the Music in Music City on April 20 at several participating downtown restaurants, the Downtown Home Tour on April 22 and much more!
Head to the Country Music Hall of Fame for lunch! A live performance by Don Schlitz at noon with an autograph signing immediately following. Enjoy cookout favorites from the grill. Use the Music City Circuit for a quick ride down to the Hall.

Downtown Home Tour: April 22
Make a day of it when you come downtown for the 9th Annual Downtown Home Tour presented by Summit Property Management on Sunday, April 22. Several downtown businesses will be open and are offering special discounts and options. Enjoy brunch, free refreshments, discounts and more at these great retailers, restaurants, galleries, and downtown amenities.
Road Closures: Lane Shifts
Beginning Thursday, April 12 lane shifts be made at the intersection of Lafeyette and 8th Avenue South. No additional lane closings are planned with this phase in the construction process. However 8th Ave South will be routed onto temporary pavement along the west side of the proposed roundabout and both directions of Lafayette Street traffic will be routed onto Lea Ave. A special pedestrian detour has been constructed along 8th Avenue to help ensure the safety of pedestrians who need to use the area. An updated map of alternate routes and the pedestrian detour is available on the KVB project website.
