National Day of Prayer

THURSDAY, MAY 3, 11:30 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA PLAZA FREE

Prayers will be led by community, business, church, YMCA and civic leaders in the arena's plaza. Worship and praise from 11:30 am to noon. Main program begins at noon. Plus, local food trucks, The Grilled Cheeserie and Mas Tacos Por Favor, will be on site.

 

An Enchanted Evening with the Nashville Opera

THURSDAY, MAY 3, 6:15 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

A fun-filled evening of music and stories with the Nashville Opera. Experience an adult perspective of the magic and passion behind fairy tales. Enjoy excerpts from Nashville Opera's production of La Cenerentola (Cinderella). Hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Event is free, but registration is required.

 

Stanley Cup Playoffs Nashville Predators vs. Phoenix Coyotes

FRIDAY, MAY 4, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA

The Nashville Predators host the Phoenix Coyotes for round two, game four of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs! The puck drops at 6:30 pm, but festivities begin at 3:30 pm with a party in the plaza featuring live music, games and more. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online, by calling 615-770-PUCK or visiting the Bridgestone Arena box office. Go Preds!

 

Mayor's Field Day

SATURDAY, MAY 5, 9 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD FREE

Mayor Karl Dean is bringing a free, citywide Field Day to Nashville as his newest health challenge event to encourage residents to be active outdoors. Activities include an obstacle course, educational fitness fair, a classic sack race, water relay, and other field games in a relaxed, tournament-style format. Current and former Titans players, Titans cheerleaders and Titans mascot T-RAC will participate in the day’s activities. Register in advance.
 

 

Hume-Fogg Academic High School's Block Party

SATURDAY, MAY 5, 1 PM
LOCATION: HUME-FOGG ACADEMIC MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL FREE

Celebrate the centennial of Hume-Fogg Academic High School at this block party on 7th Avenue. Live music by THE CO, featuring Hume-Fogg alum, Troy Akers. NOTE: road closures associated with this event! 7th Avenue will be closed between Commerce and Broadway from 7 am to 6 pm on Saturday, May 5.
 

 

Nashville Rollergirls v. Santa Cruz Derby Girls & ROSI

SATURDAY, MAY 5, DOORS 4:30, FIRST GAME 5:30, SECOND GAME 7:00
LOCATION: NASHVILLE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM $15 ADULTS, $7 AGES 7-12, FREE AGES 6 AND UNDER

This doubleheader features the Music City Brawl Stars against the Rollergirls of Southern Indiana and the Music City All Stars against the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Bombshells.

Cinco De Mayo After Crawl

After the First Saturday Art Crawl head to this after party! The evening starts at 5 pm with a D.I.Y. pinata making workshop taught by Emily Laird of Craftville. Artwork from Brick Factory Nashville's members and collaborators will be showcased. Plus, free beer and margaritas.

 

Cinco de Mayo Sips 'n Strokes® Style

LOCATION: SIPS 'N STROKES $30 - $40

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a choice between two classes. The afternoon class features a Margarita painting and the evening class is an open studio. Gourmet Mexican popsicles from Las Paletas for all who attend either class!

Interstate Closures: I-24

The downtown portion of I-24 will be closed this weekend from Friday at 9 pm to Monday at 5 am (May 4 - 7, 2012). Check out the closure maps and alternative route suggestions online. These closures will continue on weekends through August 31, 2012, except for a few weekends with major events at LP Field. Please plan accordingly!

Work downtown and need to let people know the closest parking options to your office building? Going to a concert with friends and looking for the closest parking? Use our "popular destinations" map to find the nearest parking to your destination of choice. This example features the 25 parking garages and lots closest to the Ryman Auditorium.
