Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman: Dailey & Vincent


The Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman series continues with Dailey & Vincent on July 19. One additional concert in this series includes Ricky Skaggs on July 26. Also, before each show there will be free music on the Ryman plaza from 6 pm - 7 pm as part of the Pickin' on the Plaza series.

White Hot Summer Soirée

THURSDAY, JULY 19, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Kick off the summer season in high style at Modern Trousseau Nashville's get together for area brides and bridal professionals. Enjoy samples, consultations and more from several local vendors including Sambuca, Julia from Scratch, Rocket Fizz, Bridal Hair and Makeup by Lisa Koonce, Brocade Design Arts, J. Michaels, Goorin Bros. Plus, The Grilled Cheeserie will be on site. Live music by Melanie Joy.

One Year Anniversary Party: Sanctuary in the Gulch


Celebrating one year of business in The Gulch with a weekend full of events and activities. A trance dance on Friday night, free yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday, and a boutique sidewalk sale. Click here for the full schedule.

July Night Market

FRIDAY, JULY 20, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Shop "under the stars" at the Night Market! Enjoy shopping, wine from the cash bar, beverages from merchants, live music, free samples, artisan booths, and much more. Night Market will be held inside the Market House and outside in the farm sheds and flea market. Live music by Frank Ortega, Billy Ramirez, and others. Most Market House restaurants and shops will be open. Vendors on the farm side will be selling local produce, meat, cheese and more! The flea market side will feature local food trucks, beer and wine, and merchants.

Music City Triathlon

SUNDAY, JULY 22, 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

The 4th Annual Music City Triathlon. Swim the Cumberland River (1.5k), bike through East Nashville (40k), and run (10k) through downtown Nashville. There is also a shorter course option with a 400 yard swim, 20k bike, 5k run. Plus, a Kids Duathlon on Saturday. Non-racers are encouraged to watch and cheer on the participants!

NOTE: rolling road closures associated with this event include the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, Broadway (2nd Ave to 3rd Ave), Union (3rd Ave to Woodland Street Bridge), 1st Avenue (southbound lane from Union to Molloy), 2nd Avenue (all lanes from Union to Broadway), 3rd Avenue (northbound lane from Union to Broadway and the Shelby Street Bridge to Molloy), and the Woodland Street Bridge (eastbound lanes). These closures will be in effect from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night


Choose your own colors, pattern, and ribbon in this class. A portion the proceeds from this class will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Greater Nashville Affiliate.

Country to the Core Market

TUESDAY, JULY 24, 11 AM - 2 PM

A weekly farmers market held in Bank of America Plaza (located between the Bank of America building and the Doubletree Hotel). This market will be held on Tuesdays from 11 am to 2 pm. Shop for local organically and conventionally grown produce, pastured eggs, hand-crafted cheeses, baked goods, prepared foods and more. Farm fresh produce that will be available on Tuesday, July 24 includes sweet corn, melons, tomatoes, peppers, and more. This event is organized by Good Food for Good People and is part of their Edible Community Project.

If you notice something amiss while walking downtown, please let us know about it! Report graffiti that needs to be removed, public sidewalks that need pressure washing, weeds, trash and other unsightly items! Use this form to send a request directly to our Clean and Safe Team manager. NOTE: these services are only available in the CBID and the GBID (maps of these areas are provided on the form page).


Interstate Closures: I-24

The downtown portion of I-24 will be closed this weekend from Friday at 9 pm to Monday at 5 am (July 20 - 23, 2012). Check out the closure maps and alternative route suggestions online. These closures will continue on weekends through August 5, 2012.
