Grab a sneak peek at Nashville’s new bike-share program, Nashville B-cycle. This demonstration will give members of the public the chance to test ride a B-cycle and learn more about the automated kiosk system. The city is expanding its bike-share system to include 200 bikes available at 20 automated kiosks throughout the urban core. This will be a fee-based system designed for short trips. Complement your lunch hour on Friday with lunch from any one of the Farmers' Market amazing restaurants (over 12 to choose from).

Art talks on the 5th Avenue of the Arts hosted by Paul Polycarpou, editor of Nashville Arts Magazine. Cocktails will be served at 5:30 pm. At 6 pm, Tinney Contemporary will start the evening with gallery director Sarah Wilson discussing "The New Real" which includes works by six artists. At 6:45 pm, painter Sam Dunson will discuss his work at The Rymer Gallery. The Arts Company will round out the evening with a collectors' tour of Harry Underwood's new painting series at 7:15 pm. Learn the art of classic Southern biscuit baking with expert Maryann Byrd. She will teach you the recipes and tricks she has learned while documenting the best biscuit makers in the South in her film and book, The Biscuit Dive Guide. An open house from 10 am to 1 pm featuring the team's popular used equipment sale, an open skate on Bridgestone Arena ice (bring your own skates), a pro shop sidewalk sale, and locker room tours. Saturday marks the day individual tickets go on sale for the 2012-2013 season. The Predators are also participating in "Tax Free Weekend" from 10 am on Saturday, August 4 to 5 pm on Sunday, August 5. Fans may purchase Predators ticket plans, select single game tickets, premium seating inventory and tickets to select Bridgestone Arena events at a 9.25% discount. Tickets should be purchased by calling 615-770-7800 or through nashvillepredators.com. Also, Friday is Preds Pride Day and everyone is encouraged to wear Predators' gold.

Additional downtown businesses open especially for the crawl include Karma Boutique and CoLab Nashville. Karma (302 Church Street) will offer 30 percent off clothing, free drinks and munchies, and tunes by a DJ during the crawl. The store will be open until 10 pm and will feature works by several local artists. CoLab, located directly across 4th Avenue from The Arcade, will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and will offer free wine and a coffee bar. Plus, artwork featuring three local artists will be on display.

Songwriters in the Park features live performances by local songwriters including Jay Craik, Craig Jackson, Landis Frier, Golden State Refugees, and Crash Like This. Bring a picnic and blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the live music! Dogs are welcome, too. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for Second Harvest Food Bank. These events will continue through September on the first Saturday of each month to coincide with the First Saturday Art Crawl.

This weekly farmers' market held in Bank of America Plaza (located between the Bank of America building and the Doubletree Hotel) features locally grown produce, pastured eggs, hand-crafted cheeses, baked goods, prepared foods, salsa, grass-fed meat, and more. Farm fresh produce that will be available on Tuesday, August 7 includes pears, apples, figs, melon, and cucumbers. Plus, Izzy's Ice will be onsite. This event is organized by Good Food for Good People and is part of their Edible Community Project.
