Art talks on the 5th Avenue of the Arts hosted by Paul Polycarpou, editor of Nashville Arts Magazine. Cocktails will be served at 5:30 pm. At 6 pm, The Rymer Gallery will start the evening with a conversation with Herb Williams about his new crayon sculptures and oil paintings. At 6:45 pm, artist Hyunmee Lee will discuss her new exhibit at Tinney Contemporary. The Arts Company will complete the evening with collaborative conversations with photographer Jerry Park and co-curators Anne Brown and Lain York at 7:15 pm. Wishing Chair Productions' "Cinderella." A musical storytelling filled with magical surprises, featuring some of Tom Tichenor's most beautiful marionettes. Presented in the library's children's theater. Running time: 35 minutes. Additional show dates include all Fridays and Saturdays through Saturday, December 22.

Additional downtown locations open especially for the crawl include Karma Boutique and St. Mary's Church. Karma (302 Church Street) will offer 20 percent off clothing with free drinks and munchies. The store will be open until 10 pm and will feature art by Kiim Ryder. St. Mary's Catholic Church will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and is located one block north of the galleries on 5th Avenue. Artwork on display by Trey Gossett, plus live music and refreshments. Also, CoLab (across from the Arcade's 4th Avenue entrance) will be open from 6 pm - 9 pm showcasing work by local artists.
The evening will begin with a special viewing of It's a Wonderful Life in the balcony seating of the War Memorial Auditorium. A festive reception will follow in the ballroom complete with holiday fare, drinks, live music, dancing, and a silent auction. This event is funded entirely by sponsors and 100% of the money raised directly benefits families in need. Tickets are free; advance registration is encouraged.
Experience the awe-inspiring sound of the Schermerhorn's Martin Foundation Concert Organ when world-renowned organist Thomas Murray makes a special visit to the symphony center. With more than 3,500 pipes, this instrument has an incredible range, with notes so low that they will literally shake the seats. Murray, a professor at Yale, will perform works by Bach, Elgar, Vaughan Williams and more.
Contemporary fashion icon and Vogue creative director Grace Coddington and international supermodel Karen Elson will meet on stage for a conversation between friends. Coddington’s career, which spans almost five decades, is the subject of her new book. Grace: A Memoir. Tickets to the event are $50 and include a copy of the book. The author will sign copies of her book following the formal program.
Lady Antebellum will bring the sounds of the holidays to Nashville. Lady Antebellum and their band will join a full orchestra and perform holiday classics plus some of their own Christmas songs. This one-night performance will also be filmed for an upcoming television special. After a short intermission, Lady Antebellum and their 5-piece band will return to the stage to perform some of their fan favorites.
A long-running Christmas tradition, the Waffle Shop will serve homemade waffles, turkey hash, southern grits, linked sausages, spiced tea and coffee. Plus, a silent auction, baked goods sale, and gift shop. All proceeds benefit the homeless ministries of the Downtown Presbyterian Church.
