Events This Week
The Tennessee Repertory Theatre presents A Christmas Story at TPAC. It is a production of humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s. The story follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his unflappable campaign to get Santa (or anyone else) to give him a Red Ryder carbine-action, 200 shot range-model air rifle. This irresistible piece of Americana is guaranteed to warm the heart and tickle the funny bone.
A long-running Christmas tradition, the Waffle Shop will serve homemade waffles, turkey hash, southern grits, linked sausages, spiced tea and coffee. Plus, a silent auction, baked goods sale, and gift shop. All proceeds benefit the homeless ministries of the Downtown Presbyterian Church.
Join Tennessee’s First Lady, Crissy Haslam, for a holiday-themed book reading event. Her Read 20 initiative encourages families to read together for at least 20 minutes every day.
