Tchaikovsky & Copland

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28 - SATURDAY, MARCH 2, THURSDAY: 7 PM; FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: 8 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $28 - $115

Full of dramatic, explosive music, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony is a cathartic masterpiece. Also, the Nashville Symphony will give one of the first performances of a new concerto by Mason Bates written for the talented violinist Anne Akiko Myers. Copland’s colorful El Salón México opens the evening with lively Latin rhythms. 
 

Raw Artists Nashville: Discovery

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 8 PM - MIDNIGHT
LOCATION: CANNERY BALLROOM $15 IN ADVANCE; $20 AT THE DOOR

RAW: natural born artists is an independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair and makeup artistry, photography and performing art. Over forty local artists will display their work at this multi-faceted artistic showcase. Cocktail attire and ages 21+.


Nashville Young Executive Networking Mixer

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CITY CLUB FREE

Join the Nashville Young Executives for this monthly mixer at the Nashville City Club. Enjoy drink specials and complimentary appetizers. Also, network with executives from several organizations. The co-host organization is the Nashville Symphony Crescendo Club and a portion of all sales will be donated to a non-profit of their choice. Parking in the building's garage is complimentary if you exit after 7 pm.


Cigar Women of Nashville

Additional downtown location open especially for the crawl include St. Mary's Catholic Church, Karma and CoLab. St. Mary's Catholic Church will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and is located one block north of the galleries on 5th Avenue. Artwork by Niki Adams on display, plus live music, refreshments, and tours of the historic church. Karma (302 Church Street) will offer 20 percent off clothing and free refreshments. The store will be open until 10 pm and will feature artwork by Georgina's Personalities. CoLab (across from the Arcade's 4th Avenue entrance) will be open from 6 pm - 9 pm showcasing work by local artists and serving complimentary wine and coffee.


English Premier League Football Viewing

SATURDAY, MARCH 2 - SUNDAY, MARCH 3, SATURDAY: 9 AM; SUNDAY: 10 AM
LOCATION: FLEET STREET PUB FREE

Are you a fan of the English Premier League? Fleet Street Pub regularly airs matches on their flat screen TVs and opens early for certain games. This weekend catch Chelsea vs. West Brom at 9 am on Saturday and the Spurs vs. Arsenal at 10 am on Sunday.


Michael Samis, Cellist

SUNDAY, MARCH 3, 4 PM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL ADULTS $15; STUDENTS $5

Recognized for his shining and expressive playing and haunting tone, Samis is an accomplished solo, chamber, and orchestral cellist. He was recently awarded a 2013 Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship in Music for Solo Instrumental Performance.
 

B-cycle in Bloom

FRIDAY, MARCH 8, NOON - 1 PM
LOCATION: FIFTH THIRD CENTER

A special spring event celebrating Nashville B-cycle. Festivities include brief remarks by Mayor Karl Dean, live coverage by Lightning 100, food trucks, demo bike rides and giveaways. Ride a B-cycle to this event and receive a free Nashville B-cycle t-shirt. Sign up for an annual membership on site at this event and receive $10 off and B-cycle swag.

Car sharing is available in downtown Nashville! A great program for those who take public transportation to work and occasionally need a car for an appointment or meeting. Perfect for downtown residents who have eliminated one or two cars. There are four convenient WeCars located downtown. Also, members are able to use the seven additional WeCars located at local universities: Belmont, Lipscomb, and Vanderbilt. Be Cheap with BEEP!

During Bridgestone Arena and Nashville Symphony events, park FREE at LP Field Lot R. Optional round-trip shuttle service is $3 per person with a convenient drop-off point near the arena and the Schermerhorn. Click here for all of the details about this parking option.
