Events This Week
The Ohio Valley Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments once again return to the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. This year's tournament runs March 6 - March 9 and is branded "Music City Madness." The 2013 Championship marks the 50th time the men's event has been held, making it the fourth oldest Division I championship in the country (behind only the Southern, ACC and SEC).
Enjoy dinner and not-your-average beauty pageant, the "Miss"-ter Beauty Pageant. Seven Nashville City Club Young Executives will walk the catwalk at this event. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Winemakers and songwriters will share their passion and the stories behind their creations. The event includes two sets of wine tastings and appetizers, each followed by a set of music. Proceeds will benefit Notes for Education.
FRIDAY, MARCH 8, NOON - 1 PM
LOCATION: FIFTH THIRD CENTER FREE
A special spring event celebrating Nashville B-cycle. Festivities include brief remarks by Mayor Karl Dean, live coverage by Lightning 100, demo bike rides, GNASH and giveaways. Plus, new members who purchase an annual membership at this event and get a $10 discount and a free B-cycle t-shirt. Ride a B-cycle to the event and get a free t-shirt. Food trucks at the event will be Smoke Et Al and Yayo's O.M.G.
San Jose, California native Anjelah Nicole Johnson made a huge splash with one of the most successful, viral comedy videos of all time, "Nail Salon." Her second YouTube video "Bon Qui Qui at King Burger," a Mad TV sketch, has also drawn millions of hits. Anjelah was on Fox's long running hit sketch series MADtv and is proud to be one of the first Latina comedians to be invited to join a sketch comedy series.
SATURDAY, MARCH 9, 8 AM - NOON
LOCATION: TENNESSEE TOWER REGISTRATION: $35; FUNDRAISING MINIMUM: $100
Climb all the way to the 28th floor of the Tennessee Tower by climbing 638 stairs at this Fight for Air Climb. Novice and expert athletes of all ages are welcome. Racers, serious climbers, runners, walkers and families are encouraged to participate. There is also a First Responders Challenge for firefighters, police, EMS, EMT and armed forces officers. Registration opens at 8 am and the event concludes at 11:30 am with an award ceremony. Proceeds benefit the American Lung Association.
The Zombies, The Ettes, and The Night Beats take the stage at War Memorial Auditorium. The Zombies ruled the 1960’s with hit singles like "She’s Not There" and "Tell Her No." Ironically, the group broke up in 1968. Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent resurrected the group over 30 years later.

Downtown's burgeoning art scene is something to enjoy! Over 20 art galleries are located within footsteps of each other. These galleries are great places to explore any day of the week and also during the First Saturday Art Crawl each month.
