New location: Tennessee Art League!
219 5th Avenue N. 615-736-5000. Tennessee Art League has moved from Broadway to 5th Avenue of the Arts. Check out their new location at this Saturday's First Saturday Art Crawl.
 

New name and new rooftop patio: Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery!
111 Broadway. 615-251-4677. Big River Grille is now Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery. The restaurant has undergone an interior renovation and now features a rooftop patio featuring indoor and outdoor seating. Great views of Nashville! Their menu has changed but still includes many Big River favorites.

Nashville Fashion Week After Party

THURSDAY, APRIL 4, 8 PM
LOCATION: KOCKTAILS & KOUTURE $10 DONATION

Celebrate Nashville Fashion Week at Kocktails and Kouture. They will roll out the red carpet, along with Little Black Dress Vodka, for an evening of fashion, cocktails and gifts. Free valet parking available.


Bicycle Bus Painting

FRIDAY, APRIL 5 - SATURDAY, APRIL 6, FRIDAY: 3 PM - 6 PM AND SATURDAY: 11 AM - 3 PM

Join local artist Andee Rudloff and help paint a community mural on the Bicycle Bus. This school bus-turned-downtown bicycle hub will be parked underneath the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge between 2nd Avenue S and 3rd Avenue S. The public is invited to paint. Water and snacks will be provided. Volunteers are able to drop in at their leisure during the timeframes specified above.


Metro's 50th Birthday Party

SATURDAY, APRIL 6, NOON - 3 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

A culmination of a nine-month celebration and education campaign commemorating Metro Government's 50th anniversary. Enjoy live music, exhibits on the history of Nashville, food and drinks from local restaurants and food trucks, exhibits from local shops, vendors and artisans. Plus, Kidsville: arts, crafts, and educational and fitness activities for children and Dogville: activities for dogs and their owners. Live music by Sam Bush & Del McCoury, Nashville Symphony Ensemble, TSU's Marching Band, Barbershop Harmony Society's Music City Chorus, The McCrary Sisters and many more.


Nashville Fashion Week: Emerging Designer Showcase

SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 7 PM - 9:30 PM
LOCATION: ANTHEM $25 - $75

Nashville Fashion Week presents this showcase of emerging designer fashions. Cash bar and complimentary valet. The Closing Night Party will follow the runway show and run from 9:30 pm - midnight. This event benefits the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

 

Scottish Heritage Festival & National Tartan Day Celebration

SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 10 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

A full day of fun for the whole family. Activities and entertainment include bagpipes, heraldry, Scottish displays, tartans, lectures on the Gaelic language, a film screening of Brave, Scottish wolfhounds and border collies, highland dancing and more.

Additional downtown locations open especially for the crawl include St. Mary's Catholic Church, Karma and CoLab. St. Mary's Catholic Church will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and is located one block north of the galleries on 5th Avenue. Artwork on display by Bryan Deese and Paul Bohannon, plus live music, wine, refreshments, and tours of the historic church. Karma (302 Church Street) will offer 20 percent off clothing, tunes by a DJ, and free refreshments. The store will be open until 10 pm and will feature artwork by Jeff Bertrand. CoLab (across from the Arcade's 4th Avenue entrance) will be open from 6 pm - 9 pm showcasing work by local artists and serving complimentary wine and coffee. Additionally, a new public art installation, Paper Lanterns, will be unveiled on Saturday, April 6 at 12:30 pm on Deaderick Street.


Nashville in Harmony

SUNDAY, APRIL 7, 2 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Nashville in Harmony, a city chorus for GLBT people and their supporters, is proud to bring a unique style and voice to the Nashville scene. Their repertoire includes songs that align with the group's mission, those that are purely fun, and everything in between. Seating is first come, first served.
