10th Annual Downtown Home Tour presented by PARKS

SUNDAY, APRIL 14, NOON - 6 PM

The Nashville Downtown Partnership's 10th Annual Downtown Home Tour! Gather home decor ideas, see amazing views, shop for condos, and get an idea of what it's like to live downtown! An assortment of private residences, rental and purchase units will be on display during the self-guided tour. This website features general tour information, free parking info, and more. When you purchase your ticket, you will receive a tour map and brochure to help you plan your route. Come down early and make a day of it downtown! Several businesses are offering special promotions the day of the home tour. New this year: visit ALL nine tour stops and enter to win a night's stay at The Hermitage Hotel, plus two tickets to the Nashville Symphony and breakfast the Capitol Grille. Purchase tickets ($10) in advance or on the day of the tour at the main ticket sales location at The Arts Company or at PARKS Urban Real Estate Gallery. Alternate transportation: Use promo code 41413 at any Nashville B-cycle B-station and ride a bike to this event downtown. The promo code covers a 24-hour pass which includes unlimited rides (of 60 minutes or less) during the pass' 24-hour time period.

Wild Game Fest

THROUGH TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 4 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: RODIZIO GRILL $32.99

Enjoy wild game during the month of April at Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse. In addition to their normal rotation of a dozen entree meats carved table side they will also feature Korobuta Wild Japanese Boar, Rattlesnake Sausage, Bison Chili and Antelope. All dinners include unlimited appetizers and the gourmet salad area. $32.99 per person. Available only for dinner.


Barbershop Harmony Society's 75th Birthday Party

THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 11:30 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: THE ARCADE FREE

In a world where there is too little harmony and never too much cake, the Barbershop Harmony Society offers Nashvillians plenty of both. The society will celebrate their 75th birthday with 75 birthday cakes. Plus, live music from strolling barbershop quartets. Cake will be served inside The Arcade from 11:30 am - 1 pm. At noon Mayor Karl Dean will present a proclamation of celebration naming April 7 - 13, 2013 Barbershop Harmony Week. This party commemorates the night of April 11, 1938, when a friendly gathering of twenty-six singers in Tulsa, Oklahoma, launched a movement that would eventually encompass tens of thousands from across the globe.

Nashville Rollergirls vs. Dirty South Derby Girls

Nashville Rollergirls' season opener. The Rumble B's face the Music City Brawl Stars at 5:30 pm. Immediately following the first game, the Dirty South Derby Girls from Atlanta skate against the Music City All Stars.


Pink Tie Affair

SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 8 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CITY CENTER $40/PERSON; $75/COUPLE

The American Cancer Society's Junior Board of Nashville's annual Pink Tie Affair. The evening includes hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, a silent auction and live music by Max Headroom, an 80's party band. The party will be held at the Waller Law Firm Conference Center (511 Union Street, Suite 2700). Tickets can be purchased online or by phone: 615-327-0991. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.


Urban Residents Association: A Night with the Predators

MONDAY, APRIL 15, PRE-GAME CHAT: 6 PM; GAME: 7 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $33 - $118

Backstage access to the arena and a Predators' game! Nashville Predators' President and COO, Sean Henry, will meet with the URA before the Preds take on the Vancouver Canucks. He will share the enhancements being made to Bridgestone Arena, how the arena impacts downtown residents and guide the group on a backstage tour of the facility. Email Amy to request a link to purchase tickets at a special discounted price for this game.


Grand Opening of the Korean Veterans Boulevard Extension

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 11 AM - 12:30 PM

Celebrate the grand opening of the Korean Veterans Boulevard Extension! This extension connects Gateway Bridge to Eighth Avenue and runs on the south side of the Music City Center. Mayor Karl Dean will cut the ribbon at 11:15 am. Bring your bike, your helmet and your appetite! One half of KVB from 5th to 8th will be designated for a cyclovia: for bike rides only. Also, there will be food trucks and live music by members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Parking will be limited. Men's High Heel Race

THURSDAY, APRIL 18, REGISTRATION: 5:30 PM; RACE START TIME: 6 PM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK $25 DONATION FOR RUNNERS; FREE FOR SPECTATORS

The Men's High Heel Race is a light-hearted fundraiser that benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Guys, grab a pair of heels and stumble and laugh your way through the short course. Ladies, donate to the cause and come cheer them on. Best legs competition held at the event: $1 = one vote.

Car sharing is available in downtown Nashville! A great program for those who take public transportation to work and occasionally need a car for an appointment or meeting. Perfect for downtown residents who have eliminated one or two cars. There are four convenient WeCars located downtown.
