Southern Women's Show

The Southern Women's Show returns to the Nashville Convention Center. Exhibitors showcase jewelry, handbags, makeup, delicious gourmet treats and much more! Great shopping and lots of samples. Plus, fashion shows, healthy lifestyle tips, cooking classes and a great line-up of guest speakers. Celebrity guests at this year's show include The Bachelor's Sean Lowe, Kay Robertson of the A&E series Duck Dynasty, Days of Our Lives actress Deidre Hall, and more.


Celebrating the Arts and International Awareness

THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
LOCATION: CUMMINS STATION FREE

A night of conversation and art at Cummins Station’s urban community garden. Speak with members of international organizations who have interests in promoting education about world affairs, multi-cultural awareness and international cooperation. Presented by the Tennessee World Affairs Council and the United Nations Association's Young Professionals Group. Cummins Station will display the artwork of artist Rachel Owen. Her solo exhibition on paper, “Soft Edges,” will be on display in the re-purposed train cars at the Track 13 Gallery in the Community Garden.


Organ Concert with Matthew Lewis

LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL FREE

Matthew Lewis maintains an active career as organist, choral conductor and educator. As Organist and Director of Music at the Church of the Incarnation in Manhattan, he directs a select group of professional singers in a wide variety of liturgical choral music.

 

Up on the Roof

LOCATION: THE PINNACLE AT SYMPHONY PLACE FREE; SUGGESTED DONATION OF $50/PERSON

Enjoy food, wine, beer, soft drinks and more at this fundraiser for Rooftop. From the rooftop deck of the Pinnacle at Symphony Place enjoy a silent auction, live jazz and one of the best views Nashville has to offer. Silent auction items include a hot air balloon ride, a fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels, a tour of the set of "Nashville," a weekend at a beautiful lakeside house at Tim Ford's Lake and more. Rooftop's mission is to preserve shelter, prevent homelessness, and provide hope.


14th Annual Ragin' Cajun Crawfish Boil

SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 4 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: CUMBERLAND PARK $45 - $50

The Nashville Junior Chamber's 14th Annual Ragin' Cajun Crawfish Boil will take place in Cumberland Park along the East Bank. This crawfish boil features New Orleans-style food, beer, and 3,500 lbs. of fresh crawfish. Event benefits the Nashville Chapter of the American Red Cross and Nashville Junior Chamber charities.


Free Family Festival Day

SUNDAY, APRIL 21, 1 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Enjoy a day of fun and creativity, filled with art activities, live music, dance and exciting demonstrations. Bring your family and friends to share in a day of art and inspiration! Investigate the culture of the Aztecs, Maya, Incas, and Olmecs in a daylong celebration of the exhibition Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection. Discover the unique traditions of Mesoamerican, Central American, and Andean South American civilizations through more than 125 art objects including sculptures, pottery, and jewelry. Make a Mesoamerican mask, carve a soap “jadeite” pendant, and use Maya hieroglyphs to create your own calendar.
 

Dining Out For Life

TUESDAY, APRIL 23

Join the fight against HIV/AIDS while celebrating food, friends and the community during the 11th Annual Dining Out for Life. On Tuesday, April 23, the following restaurants will donate 30% or more of your bill to Nashville Cares. Participating downtown restaurants include 417 UnionB&C Market BBQ, Capitol Grille, EtchFleet Street PubFlyte World Dining & Wine, M Restaurant & BarThe Melting Pot, Music City FlatsNuvo Burrito, Pour House Burgers, Bouron, and BrewsProvence at the Main Library, Rodizio Grill, Rumours 12th & Division, Salsa, The Sports Page, Virago, and Watermark. Reservations for dinner are suggested. Check out this website to see which meal the participating restaurants have designated for donation.
