10,000 Scoops Challenge

THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 11 AM - 3 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

Denali Flavors and Purity Dairies will host this free ice cream give-away. Ten-thousand scoops of Moose Tracks will be given away in the Bridgestone Arena plaza as a 10,000 Scoops Challenge issued by Denali to Nashville residents. For each scoop eaten at this event, Denali Flavors will donate $1 to Rocketown in support of ongoing children's programming.
 

Sing for Air

The first annual CMA Week "Sing For Air" benefit show for the American Lung Association.

 

CMA Music Festival

THURSDAY, JUNE 6 - SUNDAY, JUNE 9
LOCATION: LP FIELD

Four days of concerts and events! Nightly concerts at LP Field feature the big-name artists, daily concerts at Riverfront Park star well known and up-and-coming artists, and the Fan Fair X at the new Music City Center offers autograph signings and photos of the artists, shopping, live music, and more. Take part in all of the free festivities offered this year including the FREE concerts in Riverfront Park! Great artists including Sara Evans, Joe Nichols, Lonestar, Gloriana, and more. Additional free areas include The Buckle along Lower Broadway, the Transitions Performance Park in Walk of Fame Park, Fan Alley in front of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, free concerts on the Hard Rock Cafe's outdoor stage starting at 11 am each day, and more. Sensuous Steel Film Series: The Great Gatsby

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 7 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE WITH MUSEUM ADMISSION

A screening of The Great Gatsby. Produced in 1974, this movie depicts the beloved story of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel. Staring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. Part of the Sensuous Steel Film Series. This film series highlights the glamorous decades of the 1920's and 1930's and the luxury automobiles that became an emblem of modern society during that time. Some of the vehicles highlighted in the series are on display in the exhibition Sensuous Steel: Art Deco Automobiles. Take a trip down memory lane and revisit three great American classics and some even classier cars.


Franklin Farriers vs. Nashville Maroons: Vintage Base Ball

SUNDAY, JUNE 9, NOON - 3 PM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL FREE

After nearly 150 years, a Civil War–era style of baseball will once again be played in Tennessee. This match of vintage base ball (it was two words in the 1860's) has been organized by the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. Players will use the rules, equipment, costumes and culture of the 1860's–1880's. Lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics are welcomed at this event.

 

Audience Opportunity: CMT Hot 20 Countdown

TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 8:15 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

Be part of the audience for CMT's new Hot 20 Countdown. Two segments: 8:15 am to noon and 12:30 pm to 4 pm. Sign up to come to either segment or both. Ages 18 and up only. This opportunity is also available on June 25. Same location and times apply.


Country to the Core Market

TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 11 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: REGIONS CENTER

The Country to the Core Market has returned in 2013 to a new location downtown. This year the weekly market is held in the plaza in front of the 315 Deaderick Street office building (corner of 4th and Union). Produce selections available at the June 11 market include fresh summer honey with the comb, sweet peaches, lettuces, beets, cabbages, chard, kale, turnips, summer squash, heirloom tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Plus, pastured eggs, hand-crafted cheeses, homemade jams, fresh baked bread, homemade granola, grass-fed meat, and more. This event is organized by Good Food for Good People and is part of their Edible Community Project. This weekly farmers' market will continue every Tuesday through October 29.


Food Truck Tuesdays

TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 11 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE

Join First Baptist Nashville this summer for Food Truck Tuesdays. A food truck (or two) will be stationed in the church's driveway between 6th and 7th Avenues. Just Like Nannie Fixed it will be on site on Tuesday, June 11.

Reminder! CMA Festival Road Closures

Many road closures are planned throughout downtown for the CMA Music Festival. Closures are in place and all roads will be re-open by Monday, June 10 at 5 am. Click here for the full list and schedule.
