Nashville Dancin': Donna the Buffalo

THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 5 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK FREE

Free concerts return to Riverfront Park this summer! Nashville Dancin' presented by Dollar General brings local and national artists to the stage for this eight-week concert series hosted by Strome Warren. Riverfront Park's grassy slopes provide natural stadium seating for all to enjoy the live music. Plus, a variety of local food trucks will be on-site. Gates open at 5 pm and the music begins at 6 pm. Free parking available in LP Field's parking Lot R, plus free shuttle service from this surface lot to Riverfront Park! The line-up for Thursday, June 13 features headliners Donna the Buffalo and performances earlier in the evening by Tommy Malone, 18 South, and The Lonely Biscuits.


Picnic in the Park

THURSDAY, JUNE 13, NOON - 1 PM
LOCATION: CHURCH STREET PARK FREE

Head to Church Street Park on your lunch break and enjoy a picnic in the park! Live music by Austin Adams from noon to 1 pm. Plus, food available for purchase from local food trucks, Jonbalaya and Moovers and Shakers. The trucks will be on site from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Or, bring your own lunch and enjoy eating outdoors while listening to great live music. Tables and chairs will be set up for this event.


Curator and Collectors' Perspectives: Behind the Headlights

FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE WITH MUSEUM ADMISSION

"Behind the Headlights" is presented by Ken Gross, guest curator, with Richard Adatto, automotive historian and exhibition catalog contributor; Jeff Lane, president of Lane Motor Museum and exhibition lender; and Peter Mullin of the Mullin Automotive Museum and Foundation and exhibition lender. These panelists will reveal the stories behind the creation of the Art Deco-inspired machines in Sensuous Steel: Art Deco Automobiles. Join the museum for a peek into the past and learn about the personalities who created these cars, the stylists and artisans who designed and built them, and the clientele who owned them.


Dash for Dad 5K

SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 8 AM - 11 AM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK REGISTRATION: $30

A 5K that brings together athletes, cancer survivors, physicians, caretakers, family members and friends in the fight to end prostate cancer. This race is part of the ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge – a men’s health event series in America – with events in over three dozen cities across the nation in 2013. NOTE: road closures associated with this event! Demonbreun between 4th Ave S and 17th Ave S, plus, the Music Row roundabout and portions of 16th Ave S and 17th Ave S. Closures will begin as early as 7:30 am and all roads will be re-open no later than 9:30 am with the exception of Demonbreun between 4th and 5th, which will re-open at 10:30 am.


13th Annual Jazz and Blues Festival

SATURDAY, JUNE 15, NOON - 9 PM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL IN ADVANCE: $10 (GENERAL ADMISSION), $20 (VIP); AT THE GATE: $15 (GENERAL ADMISSION), $25 (VIP)

Local and national jazz and blues musicians will perform all day including Freddie Jackson, B.B. King All-Stars, and Joe Johnson. Food and art vendors will be on site. This event is organized and sponsored by the Jefferson Street United Merchants Partnership – J.U.M.P. Also, on Friday night, the Bridging the Gap Mixer on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge.


Neighborfood in The Gulch

SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: THE GULCH $29 IN ADVANCE; $35 DAY OF EVENT

Neighborfood is an afternoon celebration of food, family, and the community. Enjoy dining at six restaurants, all within walking distance, in The Gulch at this event. Tickets include one dish at each participating location and drink specials will be offered. The meeting point and additional restaurants will be revealed to ticket holders the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit East C.A.N. and Hands On Nashville.


Nashville Pride Festival

SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 11 AM - 7 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK $5

The Nashville Pride Festival celebrates the LGBT community and features musical entertainment on three stages, over 100 vendors in the artists' village, local food trucks, a kids' zone with inflatables, cold cocktails and plenty of surprises. Live performances by Jill Sissel, Alanna Royale, Catfight, Guilty Pleasures and many more. That morning, the Vanderbilt University Equality Walk begins at 11 am at the corner of 1st and Broadway. NOTE: road closures associated with this event. Rolling road closures will be in place for the equality walk along this route from 11 am to noon. Plus, Broadway between 1st and 2nd Avenues and 1st Avenue between Demonbreun and Church Street will be closed from 6 am to 10 pm on Saturday, June 15. 


Jazz on the Cumberland

SUNDAY, JUNE 16, 5:30 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: CUMBERLAND PARK FREE

Enjoy live jazz on the third Sunday of every month through October. The Rafael Vasquez Band will perform on Sunday, June 16. Live music will be performed in the park's amphitheater. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome at this event. Food available for purchase from local food trucks.


Meet and Greet: Montgomery Gentry

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
LOCATION: THE BRIDGE LOUNGE FREE

Renaissance Hotels presents this event as part of their Global Day of Discovery. Enjoy a meet and greet with Montgomery Gentry. Plus, they will perform a few of their favorite songs and allow for photo opportunities.


Nashville Entrepreneur Center Public Grand Opening

THURSDAY, JUNE 20, 9 AM - 11 AM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE ENTREPRENEUR CENTER FREE

A grand opening celebration for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center at 41 Peabody Street. The doors will open at 9 am and the official program begins at 10 am. Enjoy tours of the new space, food and drink, and speakers including Nashville Entrepreneur Center President and CEO Michael Burcham and Mayor Karl Dean. Nashville B-cycle

Need to run a quick errand that is too far to walk but too close to drive? Use Nashville B-cycle! 195 bright red bikes are located at 21 automated B-stations within three miles of downtown. 24-hour memberships are $5 and annual memberships are $50. Nashville B-cycle is priced for quick rides. After joining, you can take an unlimited number of rides during your membership period with no additional charge for the first hour of any ride. Usage fees apply for all rides that exceed one hour. Nashville B-cycle: bikes you love and leave!
