1106 Division Street. 615-369-2154. This new juice bar is now open in The Gulch. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 am to 4 pm and Sat, 9 am to 3 pm.

Live on the Green: Matt & Kim

THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 6 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

The season opener for the fifth annual concert series! This series brings local and national artists to the stage in Public Square, located in front of the Metro Courthouse. Blankets, folding chairs, strollers, and water bottles are welcome at this free six-week concert series. The line-up for Thursday, August 8 includes ZZ Ward, Gin Wigmore, and headliners Matt & Kim. $3 parking available in the Metro Courthouse parking garage located directly below the park. Free bicycle parking.

 

"A Royal Baby is a Happy Baby" Improv Show

FRIDAY, AUGUST 9, DOORS: 8:30 PM; SHOW STARTS: 8:50 PM
LOCATION: THE FILMING STATION $10

It's a boy! Thank you to the United Kingdom for giving us some real news to talk about for a change! SPROCKET Improv, along with Vandy's "Tongue 'n' Cheek" improv company will celebrate the blessed event that has Americans wondering why we revolutionized in the first place. Don't miss this comedy show.


Titans Back to Football 5K

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, REGISTRATION OPENS: 5:30 AM; 5K: 7:30 AM; KIDS' FUN RUN: 9 AM
LOCATION: LP FIELD 5K: $60; KIDS' FUN RUN: $15

Nearly 3,000 Tennessee Titans fans will lace up their running shoes and complete a 3.1-mile fun run to kick off the 2013 Titans footballs season! Titans players along the race course will cheer on the runners. Participants will enjoy a post-race tailgate party and beer garden and will receive a Titans home game ticket, as well as special prices on additional game tickets. Plus, a kids' half-mile fun run. Please note: road closures will be associated with this event.


An Art Deco Affair

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 6 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS $50 MEMBERS; $75 NON-MEMBERS

Celebrate the glamour and luxury of the Jazz Age with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music and tours of Sensuous Steel: Art Deco Automobiles. Dress is summer chic, but flappers and dapper gents are encouraged! Click here to purchase tickets.


Nashville Children's Theatre: Open House & Season Preview

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, NOON - 3 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CHILDREN'S THEATRE FREE

Games and activities for the family will begin at noon including a bounce house, tours of the building, and activities. Plus, snacks and food from Jonbalaya and Las Paletas will be available for purchase. From 2 pm to 3 pm, enjoy short performances of each of the five shows that are part of the Nashville Children's Theatre's upcoming season! RSVP here.


Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 1 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA GENERAL ADMISSION: $50; VIP: $100

Join the Nashville Predators for craft brews, food, games and entertainment. More than 40 breweries will serve up some of their finest libations. Plus, enjoy special appearances from Nashville Predators personalities. Tickets include entry into the beer festival, a souvenir glass, unlimited tastings and a voucher for an Upper Bowl ticket to a Monday-Thursday Predators pre-season or regular season home game in September or October (excludes opening night). The winning brewery will have the opportunity to have their beer served at three Preds games in November.


Swine Ball

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 7 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: SILVER DOLLAR SALOON $65

The Swine Ball is a "proudly tacky" benefit event. Enjoy all-inclusive BBQ, beer, and other beverages. Musical entertainment by The Max Headroom Band. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Community Resource Center. The ball is the kick-off event for the Music City Festival & BBQ Championship.


Franklin Farriers vs. Nashville Maroons: Vintage Base Ball

SUNDAY, AUGUST 11, NOON - 3 PM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL FREE

After nearly 150 years, a Civil War–era style of baseball will once again be played in Tennessee. This match of vintage base ball (it was two words in the 1860's) has been organized by the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. Players will use the rules, equipment, and costumes of the 1860's–1880's. Lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics are welcome at this event.


Food Truck Tuesday

TUESDAY, AUGUST 13, 11 AM – 1 PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE

Join First Baptist Nashville this summer for Food Truck Tuesdays. A food truck or two will be stationed in the church's driveway between 6th and 7th Avenues with food available for purchase. Trucks scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 are Just Like Nannie Fixed It and Smokin' Thighs.

Heads Up! Road Closures

Thursday, August 8 is going to be a busy day downtown filled with several road closures! The Tennessee Titans play the Washington Redskins at 7 pm and road closures begin as early as 4 pm. Live on the Green will kick off their concert series at 6 pm in Public Square. 3rd Avenue North between James Robertson Parkway and Union Street will be closed beginning at 1 pm on Thursday, August 8 and will reopen at midnight on Friday, August 9.
