New business: Wedding 101
1108 Division Street. 615-988-2494. Wedding 101 serves as a resource for brides by providing options for wedding vendors at every budget level, including planners, photographers, cake designers, dresses, flowers and venues. The business will celebrate its grand opening with an open house that is free and open to the public on Saturday, November 9 from 11 am - 7 pm. Regular hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 7 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm.

Pride and Glory Tattoo's Downtown Employee Appreciation Event

 

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6 - THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: PRIDE AND GLORY TATTOO PARLOR

This two-day event offers downtown employees half-off new tattoos (no work on existing tattoos) and merchandise. There is a two-hour limit on tattoo work. The event is first come, first serve and proof of employment must be shown.

 

Nashville Farmers' Market Farmhand Dinner

 

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET $50

Nashville Farmers' Market will host an innovative and delicious interpretation of a traditional farmhand dinner, a time when farm workers would come together to celebrate a successful day in the fields. This first-time event features fifth generation NFM farmer Troy Smiley of Smiley’s Farm, along with the culinary talents of seven local chefs. The evening begins with a traditional twist on a farmhand “water break” with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The dinner portion includes wine pairings and farmhand-style dinner service, music and more. Proceeds will benefit developments to NFM’s ongoing work to support local agriculture and educational programs.

 

Tequila Dinner

 

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 7 PM
LOCATION: CANTINA LAREDO $49.99

The night includes cocktail service beginning at 7 pm followed by a four-course dinner with paired tequila drinks at 7:30 pm. Participants will enjoy Mexican dishes with a modern twist while learning about the history of the featured tequila.

 

Schoolhouse Rock Live! Big Kid Night

 

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 5:30 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CHILDREN'S THEATRE $30

This special, adult-only evening includes happy hour with Yazoo beer, light food and an entertaining show featuring the "Schoolhouse Rock!" songs you grew up with. Attendees must be 21 and up for this popular, after-work show.

 

Bluegrass and Beyond

 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 11 AM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM MUSEUM ADMISSION REQUIRED

A full day of bluegrass-inspired performances featuring celebrated players in this musical genre. Performers include Jim Hurst, NewTown, Tim May and Gretchen Priest May with Alan O'Bryant, and The Claire Lynch Band.

 

Hard Rock Cafe's 1/2 and Full Marathon

 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 7 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: HARD ROCK CAFE $65 - $100

Whether an out-of-towner or a lifelong local, runners will love this route that goes through some of Nashville’s most beautiful and historic scenery in The Gulch, downtown, East Nashville and other neighborhoods. Following the run, participants can enjoy music, food and complimentary Michelob Ultra at the Hard Rock Cafe's block party. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Check the schedule detailing the specific roads and accompanying times each are expected to be closed. Roads will close as early as 4 am and open as late as 4 pm on Saturday, November 9.

 

Nashville Veterans' Day Run

 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 7 AM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL $5 - $35

The inaugural Nashville Veterans' Day Run offers participants three distances to choose from: a timed 11K run, a timed 5K run or a one-mile family walk. There is also a supporter option for those who prefer to just come out and support our Veterans, with 100% of proceeds donated to charity partner Folds of Honor Foundation. Veterans and all active-duty military personnel will receive discounted entries into the event. Please note: road closures associated with this event.

 

Free Museum Admission for Military Community

 

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

On Veterans' Day, the Frist Center will offer free admission to active duty, National Guard, Reserve and retired service members and their families. Plus, attendees can enjoy the Nashville Veterans' Day Parade from the Broadway terrace at the museum.

 

Veterans' Day Parade

 

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 11 AM

This annual event is one of the South's largest Veterans' Day parades. The family-friendly celebration honors Nashville's military community and includes floats, antique cars, local military groups and supporters, local business and charities, and nearby high schools' marching bands. The parade begins at 14th Avenue and Broadway and continues down to 3rd Avenue. Note: rolling road closures along Broadway from the interstate to 3rd Avenue in conjunction with the parade, beginning as early as 9:30 am.

 

Gulch-SoBro Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge Public Meeting

 

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 5 PM - 6:30 PM
LOCATION: MUSIC CITY CENTER FREE

A public meeting to describe and discuss the future of the Gulch-SoBro Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge project. The project will link Pine Street to 10th Avenue South by constructing a practical and visually appealing pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the railroad. The meeting will include a presentation followed by a question and answer session.

 

Lunch and Learn: Mixed Media with Barbara Cox

 

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, NOON - 1 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE ART LEAGUE AND GALLERIES $35

Lunch and Learn, a four-week art workshop that allows your creativity to soar during the lunch hour with award-winning artists as your instructors, concludes this week with mixed media taught by Barbara Cox. A light lunch will be available while you work. Return to your office with a piece of art created by you. Pre-registration is required in order to ensure sufficient food and art supplies.
