New restaurant: Ty's Soups & Sandwiches!
160 4th Avenue North. 615-457-8443. Ty's Soups & Sandwiches offers traditional American breakfast and lunch items. The menu includes deli items, salads and an array of daily soup options from chicken queso to chili served with cornbread. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 3 pm.

Events This Week
Nashville’s version of this timeless holiday classic tells the tale of Clara, a young girl who goes on a fantastic journey with the help of her magical uncle Drosselmeyer. Approximately 200 dancers perform to the famous music of Tchaikovsky, introducing audiences to beloved characters such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Mouse King, the Nutcracker, the Dancing Bear and historic characters from Nashville’s past.

Amy Grant and Vince Gill will light the Schermerhorn with cheer and goodwill when they perform their beloved holiday show with the Nashville Symphony. Come celebrate with classic tunes, gospel hymns and a joyous night of great music!

The Silver Dollar Saloon will host the official "Alabama Line" Tribute Benefit in honor of singer/songwriter Wayne Mills, 44, who was fatally shot on November 23. Musicians and artists of The Alabama Line, a group co-founded by Mills that celebrates and unites a rich talent pool deriving from northern Alabama, will be performing, sharing stories about their friend and raising money for his family. Attendees are encouraged to bring a Christmas gift for Mills' seven-year-old son, Jack. Additionally, The Silver Dollar Saloon will donate 100% of all bar sales for the evening to the Mills family.

Festivities include a $50 tab to the ugliest Christmas costume, holiday favorites performed by Scott Wesley, food, drinks and more!
Mandy Barnett will perform songs from and discuss her new album, "I Can't Stop Loving You: The Songs of Don Gibson." Barnett will also talk about her experiences portraying Patsy Cline in the production "Always ...Patsy Cline" and her work with producer Owen Bradley. Selections from her 2010 Christmas release, "Winter Wonderland," will also be featured.
Founded in late 2011, The Providence Consort is a recorder trio plus keyboard. The group enjoys playing a wide range of music from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the early Baroque and Contemporary periods. Their repertoire includes classical pieces as well as folk songs, carols and current hits. Their popular Christmas concert is a combination of secular and religious pieces.

Join St. Mary's for an evening of Christmas caroling to various downtown residential buildings, restaurants and honky tonks. Following the caroling, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies will be served at the church.

New Year's Eve Train
For the first time, the Music City Star train will be available for transportation to Music City's New Year’s Eve Bash on Broadway on Tuesday, December 31. The train will arrive at Riverfront Station at 7:30 pm and the return train will depart 30 minutes after the fireworks show ends. Earlier departure times are available as well.
