Downtown Nashville's New Year's Eve Events
Want to get a jump start on your New Year's Eve plans? We've got you covered. Our online calendar features more than 35 New Year's Eve events from dinners to concerts to parties throughout downtown! Next week's edition of this newsletter will feature these parties.

 

Events This Week


Christmas Eve Worship

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1 PM AND 11 PM
LOCATION: MCKENDREE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FREE

Christmas Eve services at 1 pm and 11 pm.

 

Christmas Eve Services at First Baptist
 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 5 PM AND 8 PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE FREE

Two Christmas Eve services featuring carols, candles and communion. The 5 pm service will include soloists and great carols of the season in the Sanctuary. The 8 pm service will feature holiday music with a contemporary flair in the Fellowship Hall.

 

Christmas Eve Candlelight Services

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 5:30 PM AND 10:30 PM
LOCATION: FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH ELCA FREE

Two candlelight services on Christmas Eve featuring traditional carol singing and Holy Communion. The 5:30 pm service will include music performed by the children's choir, and the 10:30 pm service will feature the adult choir along with instrumentalists. Free parking is available in the lot on the corner of 8th Avenue S and McGavock.

 

Christmas Celebration Services at Christ Church Cathedral

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24 - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25, 12:15 PM, 4 PM AND 11 PM TUESDAY; 10 AM WEDNESDAY
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL FREE

Christmas Eve service featuring Holy Eucharist at 12:15 pm and 4 pm. Solemn Holy Eucharist at 11 pm (music begins at 10:15 pm). Christmas Day service with Holy Eucharist at 10 am.

 

Christmas Masses at St. Mary's

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24 - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25, 5 PM AND MIDNIGHT TUESDAY; 10:30 AM WEDNESDAY
LOCATION: ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH FREE

A 5 pm and midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Plus, a service at 10:30 am on Christmas morning.

 

Christmas Worship Services at Downtown Presbyterian Church

 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24 - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25, 6 PM TUESDAY; 11 AM WEDNESDAY
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FREE

Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6 pm on Tuesday night featuring communion and favorite hymns. A relaxed and joyful Christmas Day worship service including communion and hymns on Wednesday at 11 am.

 

Christmas at Kitchen Notes

LOCATION: KITCHEN NOTES DINNER: PRICES à LA CARTE; BRUNCH: ADULTS $45.95 AND CHILDREN 12 & UNDER $20.95

Kitchen Notes, located inside The Omni Hotel, is offering a special three-course dinner on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Options include roasted pear and brussel sprouts salad, Tennessee orange blossom roasted turkey, house smoked prime rib with sorghum whiskey sauce, sticky toffee pudding and more. Plus, a Christmas Day brunch including a buffet with breakfast items, a carving station, chilled seafood display, desserts, a kids' buffet and more. Christmas Brunch and Dinner

LOCATION: CAPITOL GRILLE AT THE HERMITAGE HOTEL BRUNCH: $59.50 ADULTS AND $32.50 CHILDREN; DINNER: $65 ADULTS AND $35.50 CHILDREN

Two options for your Christmas feast: brunch or dinner. The brunch buffet menu by Chef Tyler Brown includes Niman Ranch steamship ham, roasted sirloin, Ashley Farms turkey, sweet potatoes with pecan crumble, green beans with roasted onion and wild mushroom, brioche stuffing with vegetables, southern-style braised greens, a Hermitage Hotel grand dessert display and more! Christmas Dinner is a three-course meal with options including beef and barley stew, Tennessee duck, sorghum glazed ham and more. The Twelve Tastes of Christmas

The Twelve Tastes of Christmas is a culinary delight. Enjoy a delicious family-style dinner while relaxing in an elegant atmosphere. Menu items include turkey and andouille gumbo, Chateaubriand, grilled lamb chops, roast Christmas goose, dressing, green bean and wild mushroom casserole, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, a selection of holiday desserts and much more! Christmas Dinner at Commerce Street Grille

LOCATION: COMMERCE STREET GRILLE $34.95 ADULTS; $17.48 CHILDREN 6-12; 5 & UNDER FREE

Featuring garlic rubbed rib eye, cranberry and walnut stuffed chicken with a fresh rosemary glaze, honey lime salmon, mashed root vegetables, buttered baby bean blend, a carving station including herb rubbed fried turkey and bourbon glazed pit ham, a children's buffet, a variety of holiday sweets and more. Battle of the Bands

 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 29, 5 PM - 7 PM
LOCATION: THE DISTRICT FREE

Gather at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway to watch the marching bands from Ole Miss and Georgia Tech perform and "battle" against each other. Prior to the event, 38 Special will perform a free concert. Note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include 1st Avenue (Demonbreun to Church); 2nd Avenue (Demonbreun to Commerce) and Broadway (1st Avenue to 4th Avenue). Closures begin as early as 6 am on Friday, December 27 and end as late as midnight on Thursday, January 2.

 

Music City Bowl Pre-Game and Post-Game Concerts

 

MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 11:45 AM PRE-GAME CONCERT; 6 PM POST-GAME CONCERT
LOCATION: THE DISTRICT FREE

Music City’s New Year’s Eve Bash on Broadway has expanded to include free live music on Monday, December 30, with Music City Bowl pre-game and post-game concerts. Nashville vocalist Jason Eskridge will perform at the pre-game concert while country trio The Shuggah Pies will perform at the post-game concert, both taking place at the New Year’s Eve stage on Lower Broadway near 1st Avenue. Note: same road closures apply as listed above.

 

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

 

MONDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2:15 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $15 - $187

Now in its 16th year, the 2013 Bowl matches teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). This year's game is between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Monday's matchup will mark the fourth time these teams have played one another. Both featured universities' marching bands will provide the halftime entertainment. Tickets are available for purchase online or on game day at the gate.
