New restaurant: Moto!
1120 McGavock Street. 615-736-5305. This new restaurant in The Gulch offers a contemporary approach to authentic Italian cuisine. Menu items include a variety of pizzas and pastas, seafood dishes, and a steak and chop section. Plus, more than 30 ever-changing wines by the glass and 250 labels in total. The restaurant is open Monday through Sunday. Dinner service begins at 5 pm each night.
New restaurant: Tavern '96!
Bridgestone Arena. 501 Broadway. This new bar and grill puts a fresh spin on traditional American food with menu items including hot chicken, whiskey barbecue glazed ribs, smoked brisket chili and more. Plus, more than 40 varieties of beer both on tap and by the bottle. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 11 pm.
New retailer: Ann Taylor LOFT!
Pine Street Flats. 412 11th Avenue South. 615-780-9180. This new store in The Gulch sells women's clothing and accessories. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 8 pm and Sunday, noon - 6 pm.
Sixth Avenue North (Union Street to Church Street) will be closed until Monday, February 10 due to water line work. Plus, Union Street (7th Avenue North to Capitol Boulevard) will be closed until Saturday, February 15 due to continued construction at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel.

Project Management Institute will host its February workshop on the topic of stress and relationships led by Latoya Lackey. The event is sponsored by Dale Carnegie Training Center, where Lackey has been helping others achieve their career goals for more than 10 years.

On July 8, 1853, American Commodore Matthew Perry led his four ships into the harbor at Tokyo Bay where he re-established regular trade and discourse between Japan and the West. For her choreography of this original contemporary dance performance, Marsha Barsky and the dancers of Nashville-based Company Rose have voyaged through space and time, drawing inspiration from the Frist exhibit "Looking East: Western Artists and the Allure of Japan."

Celebrating its 24th year, The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville brings together nationally and internationally renowned experts and exhibitors in the fields of antiques, decorative arts and landscape design. The show is the largest of its kind in the country, offering more than 140 antique stations, horticultural booths and landscaped gardens. Additionally, special lectures are held by experts in their respective fields throughout the weekend. Plus, parties, live music, book signings and more! First Friday Liturgies take place the first Friday of each month during the academic year and blend church services with the arts. Services include liturgical dancers, a variety of music and film interludes, in addition to the Eucharist. Friday, February 7 will celebrate Black History Month by incorporating scenes from George C. Wolfe's "The Colored Museum" into the evening's worship. A reception will follow.
Community members are invited to attend a free showing as three award-winning children's books by Leo Lionni come to life in a unique approach to puppetry. Watch as animals persevere against larger forces by solving problems with wit and imagination. The three Caldecott Honor books chosen for this tribute, "Swimmy," "Frederick" and "Inch by Inch," are among Lionni's most popular. Reserve tickets in advance.

Southern Living magazine will host a wedding luncheon to help brides plan their upcoming nuptials. The event includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, brunch by Chef Tyler Brown and his culinary team, and tips from Southern Living wedding expert Kimberly Whitman. Whitman will also sign copies of her book "Wedding Inspiration," which will be available for purchase. Plus, every bride in attendance can enter to win a wedding night at the Hermitage Hotel. Valentines for Veterans consists of concerts across the nation honoring veterans, and this year for the first time, Nashville is hosting one of the concerts. The Nashville show will pay tribute to America's Gold Star Families, those who have lost an immediate family member in combat. Performers include Aaron Tippin, Darryl Worley, Lucas Hoge, and Susan and Larry Wiseman.

Nashville Opportunity Today is an organization that provides networking opportunities for music and music business professionals in the Nashville area.
