News & Information


New art gallery: Corvidae Collective!
11 Arcade. 615-251-1609. This new gallery will feature local artisans, handmade goods, curated vintage goods and local food providers. The gallery will be open to the public on Saturday, April 5 from 6 pm - 9 pm for the First Saturday Art Crawl. Regular hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm and Saturday, noon - 6 pm.


Road Closures
11th Avenue South (Laurel Street to McGavock Street) will be closed until Saturday, April 5. Almond Street (Peabody Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard) will be closed for construction until Friday, May 23. Plus, several event-related road closures listed below.

NCAA Women's Final Four "Salute on Tour" Premiere

The NCAA Women's Final Four is coming to Nashville! Several events will be held throughout downtown leading up to the games, which will take place at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 8. The "Salute on Tour" Premiere will kick off celebrations by welcoming participating teams to Nashville: University of Connecticut, University of Notre Dame, University of Maryland and Stanford University. The event will include a red carpet arrival of the teams, team introductions, special tributes, live entertainment and team video highlights of their road to the Final Four.

 

Nashville Fashion Week: Runway Show at 5th Avenue of the Arts
 

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 7 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS $75

Nashville Fashion Week continues! The evening will begin with a cocktail hour hosted by three 5th Avenue of the Arts galleries, The Arts CompanyThe Rymer Gallery and Tinney Contemporary, who will each showcase artistic works inspired by fashion. Following cocktail hour, the event will move outside for five headlining runway shows along 5th Avenue. Plus, join the official after party at The Rosewall including signature cocktails and bites. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets in advance. Note: road closure associated with this event. The northern end of the block on 5th Avenue North (Union Street to Church Street) will be closed beginning as early as noon and ending as late as 11 pm on Saturday, April 5.

 

Marcus Hummon's Passion Cantata

LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL $15 ADULTS; $5 STUDENTS

A weekend of choral music at Christ Church Cathedral begins with Grammy-winning composer and songwriter Marcus Hummon's premiere of his Passion Cantata. Hummon will begin the evening with some of his best-known songs and share how his faith has influenced his music. The Cantata will follow, featuring accomplished soloists and the Belmont Chamber Singers. Click here to purchase tickets in advance. The weekend will conclude with a free performance of the Chorister Festival Evensong on Sunday, April 6 at 4 pm.

 

4Kay Run
 

SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 8 AM
$20 IN ADVANCE; $25 RACE DAY

Fans and families are invited to participate in the seventh annual 4Kay Run in association with the NCAA Women's Final Four. This 4K (2.49 mile) run/walk is held in honor of the late NC State head women's basketball coach Kay Yow. Proceeds will benefit women's cancer research through the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The race begins and ends at 6th Avenue South and Demonbreun. Click here to register in advance. Note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include Demonbreun (8th Avenue South to 3rd Avenue South), 3rd Avenue South (Demonbreun to Symphony Place), Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, Victory Avenue (South 1st Street to South 2nd Street), Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, 1st Avenue South (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Broadway), Broadway (1st Avenue to 8th Avenue) and 8th Avenue South (Broadway to Demonbreun). Tourney Town

Tourney Town is a free fan festival celebrating the best in women’s college basketball during the NCAA Women’s Final Four. Located inside Music City Center, Tourney Town will offer non-stop programming including concerts by national recording artists, the NCAA Women’s Final Four Pep Rally and AT&T Mascot Challenge, appearances and autograph sessions with sports celebrities, giveaways and more. Click here for the complete schedule of events.

 

Scottish Heritage Festival & Highland Dance Competition
 

SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 10 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

The Nashville Public Library and the local Glengarry Highland Dancers have teamed up to host the inaugural Highland Dance Competition. Presented in conjunction with the library's Scottish Heritage Festival, watch as dancers from across the Southeast compete for top honors. Plus, the festival will include bagpiping by the Tennessee Scots Pipe Band, Scottish dogs, displays and more.

 

Super Saturday
 

SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 10:30 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

Super Saturday gives fans the chance to watch and meet the four NCAA Women's Final Four teams before the semifinal games begin the following night.

 

The Broadway Bounce


SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 1 PM
FREE

Youth, ages 18 and under, are invited to participate in the Broadway Bounce and be a part of the NCAA Women's Final Four excitement. Attendees will dribble their way through downtown Nashville, beginning and ending at 6th Avenue South and Demonbreun. Participants will receive a t-shirt and basketball. Plus, enjoy entertainment and activities prior to the bounce. Following the event, Tourney Town will welcome dribblers and fans with additional festivities throughout the afternoon. Click here to register in advance.

First Saturday Art Crawl

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. Several downtown locations will be open especially for the crawl. Cute & Comfy Shoes (5 Arcade) will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and will offer complimentary wine. Karma (302 Church Street) will be open until 10 pm with 20% off clothing, free refreshments and art on display by Sarit Jacobsohn. Plus, St. Mary's Catholic Church will be open from 6 pm to 9 pm and is located one block north of the galleries on 5th Avenue. Artwork on display by Amelie Brown, a live classical guitarist, refreshments and tours of the historic church.

 

Pink Tie Affair

The American Cancer Society's Junior Board of Nashville's annual Pink Tie Affair. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, a silent auction and live music by '90s cover band Dot Commies. NCAA Women's Final Four

The Final Four is the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship. Three basketball games will be played over two days: two National Semifinal games on Sunday, April 6 and the National Championship game on Tuesday, April 8. Click here to purchase tickets in advance.

Downtown Home Tour

The 11th Annual Downtown Home Tour presented by the Nashville Downtown Partnership is Sunday, April 13 from noon - 6 pm! Tickets are $10 (ages 17 and under are free). In addition to receiving a glimpse inside Nashville's urban residential communities, several downtown restaurants, shops and other businesses will offer specials for the Home Tour. Nashville B-cycle

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a ride on a Nashville B-cycle! More than 200 bright red bikes are located at 22 automated B-stations near downtown. 24-hour memberships are $5 and annual memberships are $50. Nashville B-cycle is priced for quick rides. After joining, you can take an unlimited number of rides during your membership period with no additional charge for the first hour of any ride. Usage fees apply for all rides that exceed one hour. Nashville B-cycle: bikes you love and leave!
