Predators Foundation Wine Festival & Tasting

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 6 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $75 GENERAL ADMISSION; $200 VIP

Join the Nashville Predators Foundation for its annual Wine Festival & Tasting over the ice at Bridgestone Arena. The event includes more than 225 wines, spirits and brews as well as hors d’oeuvres. Plus, a silent auction featuring Predators memorabilia and exclusive packages. A VIP option is available including a five-course dinner with wine pairings. All proceeds benefit the Nashville Predators Foundation, which supports Middle Tennessee nonprofit groups and programs in the community. Up on the Roof

LOCATION: THE PINNACLE AT SYMPHONY PLACE SUGGESTED DONATION OF $50/PERSON

Enjoy food, wine, beer, soft drinks and more at this fundraiser for Rooftop held on the Pinnacle at Symphony Place's rooftop deck. Plus, a silent auction, live music and one the best views Nashville has to offer. Rooftop's mission is to preserve shelter, prevent homelessness and provide hope. RSVP in advance.

 

Curator’s Perspective: “Art and War: Propaganda, Conscience and the Power of Objectivity”

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS GALLERY ADMISSION REQUIRED

This Curator's Perspective will consider the historical representation of war in the context of the exhibitions "Goya: The Disasters of War" and "Steve Mumford’s War Journals, 2003–2013." The lecture will raise the questions: Why do artists depict conflict? How and by whom are their images used? Does their work change anything?

 

Mix It Up Blue Gala

 

FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 7 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $50 GENERAL ADMISSION; $75 VIP

The third annual Mix It Up Blue Gala will feature hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, a dessert bar, live entertainment and a silent auction. VIP tickets include a pre-gala happy hour. All proceeds benefit Autism Speaks supporting autism research and outreach efforts in the United States.

 

Food Truck Takeover

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 6 AM - 6 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

The all-day event will begin with a Country Music Marathon viewing party from 6 am - 11 am. The party will include food truck fare, beer and wine, and live music. VIP tickets available ($50) including brunch by Riffs Fine Street Food, two drink tickets and a special marathon viewing area. The "Takeover" will continue from noon - 6 pm when more than 15 local food trucks bring their unique menus to Nashville Farmers' Market. Plus, live entertainment, a friendly competition among food trucks and more!

 

Country Music Marathon

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 26, MARATHON 7 AM

The St. Jude Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon presented by Nissan runs through Nashville on Saturday, April 26 beginning at an all-new start line at 4th Avenue and Broadway. Featuring local bands playing live on 28 entertainment stages and a fantastic finish line festival. Find a spot downtown to cheer on the runners! Or, sign up for the 3.1-mile mini marathon. A post-race concert featuring ABC "Nashville" stars Charles "Chip" Esten, Clare Bowen and Chris Carmack with Chase Rice at Bridgestone Arena at 7 pm. Plus, the Health and Fitness Expo at Music City Center on Thursday and Friday and the Kids Rock run at LP Field on Sunday at 2 pm. Note: road closures associated with the marathon and related events. More than 30,000 runners and walkers will participate. Listen To Your Mother

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 7 PM
LOCATION: TPAC - TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER $24

Listen To Your Mother is a national series of live readings created to take the audience on a well-crafted journey through giving voice to motherhood with original readings performed on stage by their authors. The Nashville production will donate a minimum of 10% of ticket sales to Thistle Farms.

 

YMCA Healthy Kids Day

 

SUNDAY, APRIL 27, NOON - 6 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD FREE

Join the YMCA at LP Field for Healthy Kids Day. This free event will feature obstacle courses, sports drills, mini boot camp classes and the Kids Rock 1-mile run in association with the Country Music Marathon beginning at 2 pm. Plus, face painting, musical entertainment, healthy snacks and more.

 

Cooking with Yazoo

 

MONDAY, APRIL 28, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: THE 404 KITCHEN $55

The second installment of Cooking with Yazoo featuring James Beard Award-nominated chef Matt Bolus. Chef Matt will combine his modern take on classic European cuisine with an emphasis on local, seasonal fare. Each course will be paired with a Yazoo brew. Click here to RSVP.

 

Public Meeting: Multimodal Mobility Study

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 11 AM - 1:30 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN PARTNERSHIP FREE

Metro Public Works will host a third and final informational open house to update the public about the ongoing Multimodal Mobility Study. The goal is to develop comprehensive strategies for achieving an optimum balance of transit service, taxi/limousine services, bicycling, walking, automobile circulation and parking for the region. At this meeting, team members will present their recommended list of projects and policies. Click here for more information.

 

Nashville Symphony Fashion Show featuring Christian Siriano

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 6 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $150 - $300

The Symphony Fashion Show will highlight Christian Siriano’s fall 2014 collection. The Band Perry will be the featured entertainment. Plus, an elegant post-show cocktail buffet and silent auction.
