New restaurant: Frothy Monkey!
235 5th Avenue North. 615-891-1015. The fourth location for this local hot spot. Not just your average coffee shop, Frothy Monkey uses local ingredients to create original dishes breakfast through dinner. Plus, wine, beer and specialty cocktails available. Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 7 am - 9 pm, Friday - Saturday, 7 am - 10 pm and Sunday, 8 am - 9 pm.
New restaurant: Nashville Street Tacos!
129 2nd Avenue North. 615-942-5271. This new restaurant offers the cuisine of the Baja region of Mexico with fresh, high quality ingredients. Menu items include its signature tacos, quesadillas, burrito bowls and numerous specialty items such as Mexican street corn. Current hours of operation are Tuesday - Thursday, 11 am - 8 pm, Friday, 5 pm - 2 am, Saturday, 11 am - 2 am and Sunday, 11 am - 8 pm.
3rd Avenue North and 5th Avenue North (Jackson Street to Harrison Street) will be closed until Thursday, May 8 due to relocating a gas line. Almond Street (Peabody Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard) will be closed until Friday, May 23. Plus, 5th Avenue South (Demonbreun Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard) will be closed as early as 6 am on Tuesday, May 13 till as late as 2 am on Wednesday, May 14 due to a private event for Dish Network.

Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh was intensely fascinated with the art and culture of Japan. Over the course of his career, Van Gogh painted copies of Japanese ukiyo-e prints and collected a range of Japanese art. Join lecturer Simon Kelly, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Saint Louis Art Museum, for a talk that examines the impact of japonisme on the artistic development of Van Gogh.

May is National Bike Month, so give Nashville B-cycle a try! More than 200 bright red bikes are located at 22 automated B-stations near downtown. 24-hour memberships are $5 and annual memberships are $50. Nashville B-cycle is priced for quick rides. After joining, you can take an unlimited number of rides during your membership period with no additional charge for the first hour of any ride. Usage fees apply for all rides that exceed one hour. Nashville B-cycle: bikes you love and leave!
