Attention: Road Closures for CMA Music Festival and Related Events
Several road closures are planned throughout downtown for the CMA Music FestivalCMT Music AwardsMusic City Gives Back and CMA World GlobaLive! Some roads will close as early as Friday, May 30 at 6 am and all roads will re-open by Monday, June 9 at 1 am. Spring Into Street Food

 

THURSDAY, MAY 29, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of more than 15 local food trucks to celebrate summer's upcoming arrival. Several of the trucks will introduce new menu items. Participating food trucks include Retro Sno, Hoss' Loaded Burgers, Pappy's Mobile Cafe, Smoothie King, Jonbalaya, Moovers & Shakers and many more! The event will take place on Deaderick Street between 3rd Avenue North and 5th Avenue North.
 

Titans Back to Football 5K

 

SATURDAY, MAY 31, 8 AM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $45 IN ADVANCE; $50 RACE WEEKEND

Nearly 3,000 Tennessee Titans fans will lace up their running shoes and complete a 3.1 mile fun run to kick off the 2014 Titans football season! Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt will take part in the run and cheerleaders will be on hand to encourage participants. Runners/walkers will receive a Titans home game ticket, special prices on additional game tickets and a commemorative gift. Click here to register. Note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include streets surrounding LP Field, Woodland Street (South 1st Street to Union Street), Union Street (1st Avenue North to 6th Avenue North), 6th Avenue North (Union Street to Deaderick Street), Deaderick Street (6th Avenue North to 3rd Avenue North), 3rd Avenue North (Deaderick Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard) and the eastbound lane of Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge. Music City Sports Festival

LOCATION: MUSIC CITY CENTER $5 ONE-DAY PASS; $8 TWO-DAY PASS; FREE 6 & UNDER

The premier annual sports event that allows you to get up close and personal with local, regional and national sports programs and personalities. This two-day event will feature keynote speakers including Tim Tebow, new University of Tennessee basketball coach Donnie Tyndall, Herm Edwards, Will Perdue and more. CMA World GlobaLive!

 

MONDAY, JUNE 2, 6 PM

Enjoy a free concert on an outdoor stage on the corner of 1st Avenue and Broadway. The show will feature country artists from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and the United Kingdom to showcase international talent during CMA Music Festival week. Performers include Cameron Scott, Dallas Smith, David Park, Emerson Drive, Jaida Dreyer and more.

 

Song Suffragettes

 

MONDAY, JUNE 2, 6 PM
LOCATION: THE LISTENING ROOM CAFE $7 FOOD AND DRINK MINIMUM

Check out Song Suffragettes, Nashville's newest and brightest female singer-songwriters, in an intimate, one-of-a-kind setting. Be the first to discover the next big stars of country music, and maybe a surprise special guest. Takes place every Monday evening at 6 pm on the Listening Room Cafe stage. Music City Gives Back

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 6 PM

Rodney Atkins' fourth annual Music City Gives Back benefit concert will feature an impressive lineup of country stars coming together to raise money for a deserving cause. In addition to Rodney, performers include Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Jana Kramer and Josh Thompson. This free concert will take place on the corner of 1st Avenue and Broadway. Donations are encouraged.

 

Country Weekly Kick-Off Party

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 7 PM
LOCATION: MERCY LOUNGE $30

Country Weekly will host its annual CMA Music Festival kick-off party at Mercy Lounge on Tuesday, June 3! The event will be hosted by Chuck Wicks and feature performances by Kip Moore and Frankie Ballard. All proceeds will benefit Musicians On Call, a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

 

Hot Nights at the Hall: The Henningsens

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 7 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM MUSEUM MEMBERS: FREE; NON-MEMBERS: $20

This annual summer concert series is complete with family-friendly music, complimentary light bites, a cash bar and artist autograph signings/meet and greets. The Henningsens will kick off the series, a family trio made up of Brian Henningsen and his two children, Aaron and Clara, who bring a unique sound with family harmonies to country music. The concert will be held in the museum's new event hall.

 

War Horse

A heart-warming tale of loyalty and friendship and winner of five Tony Awards, "War Horse" tells the story of young Albert and his beloved horse Joey. When Joey is sold to the cavalry, he is soon caught up in enemy fire and ultimately finds himself in no man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.

 

Picnic in the Park

LOCATION: CHURCH STREET PARK FREE

Plan ahead and visit Church Street Park on your lunch break to enjoy a picnic in the park! Live entertainment beginning at 11:30 am. Plus, food available for purchase from local food trucks from 11 am - 1:30 pm. Or, bring your own lunch and enjoy eating outdoors while listening to great live music. Shaded tables and chairs will be set up for this event.

 

Artists' Perspectives: "American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart"

 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, NOON
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Although known primarily as a country music star, Marty Stuart has been taking photographs of the people and places surrounding him since he first went on tour with bluegrass performer Lester Flatt at age 13. His inspirations include his mother, Hilda Stuart, whom he watched document their family’s everyday life in Mississippi. In this program, both mother and son will offer insight into each other’s practices and motivations.

 

CMT Music Awards

 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 7 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $55 - $125

Now in its 13th year, the CMT Music Awards will air live from Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, June 4. With two years of CMT Music Awards hosting experience under her belt, television and movie actress Kristen Bell will return to host country music's biggest party of the year. The CMT Music Awards are country music's first fan-voted awards show.
