New store: Goo Goo Shop
116 3rd Ave S. 615-490-6685. A one hundred year old Nashville staple has opened shop in downtown. Though much of the space remains under construction in preparation for a full opening in the fall, this pop-up store has all variations of the Goo Goo Cluster, a line of Goo Goo Cluster branded merchandise and King Leo Peppermints. Hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 10 am - 7 pm. 
 

New store: 2OH Next!
408 11th Ave S. 615-254-6446. This new sister store to Two Old Hippies offers more product selections for home decor than its counterpart, including furniture that can be purchased straight off the floor or pieces that can be custom designed. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 7 pm and Sunday, noon - 5 pm.

Summer of Street Food

 

THURSDAY, JULY 10, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of 15 to 20 local food trucks to celebrate summer! Several of the trucks will introduce new menu items. This event will take place every other Thursday through August 21. Trucks will be parked on Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North.
 

Nashville Dancin': Dumpstaphunk
 

THURSDAY, JULY 10, 5 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK FREE

Nashville Dancin' presented by Dollar General brings local and national artists to the stage for a free summer concert series held every Thursday through July 31. Riverfront Park's grassy slopes provide natural stadium seating for all to enjoy the live music. Plus, a variety of local food trucks will be on-site. The lineup for Thursday, July 10 includes Dumpstaphunk, Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds, Terrance Simien and The Zydeco Experience and Kansas Bible Company. Gates open at 5 pm and the music begins at 6 pm. Note: road closures are associated with this event. Closures include 1st Avenue (Broadway to Church Street). 

 

2nd Annual NALS After Hours Silent Auction

 

THURSDAY, JULY 10, 6 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: BAKER DONELSON SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER FREE

Want to give back to the community and win something for yourself? Come to the 2nd Annual NALS After Hours Silent Auction. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. If you are interested in volunteering or need more information, please contact the organization through email or via this website.

David Baldacci will discuss The Finisher, his first fantasy novel for young readers. This is a free ticketed event. Seating is limited. You may get advance auditorium tickets online for a $2.50 service fee per ticket. 

 

Hot Nights at the Hall: Josh Thompson

 

THURSDAY, JULY 10, 7 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM MUSEUM MEMBERS: FREE; NON-MEMBERS: $20

This annual summer concert series is complete with family-friendly music, complimentary light bites, a cash bar and artist autograph signings. The concert will be held in the museum's new event hall. Thompson’s debut album, Way Out Here, brought him Top 20 singles with “Beer On The Table” and “’Way Out Here,” and has hit the road with Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Justin Moore and others.
 

Regions Free Day at the Frist

 

SATURDAY, JULY 12, 10 AM - 5:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Enjoy free admission to the Frist Center all day on Saturday, July 12, courtesy of Regions Bank. Tour exhibits such as Watch Me Move: The Animation Show, American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart, Maira Kalman: The Elements of Style and Real/Surreal: Selections from the Whitney Museum of American Art.
 

Southern Roots

 

SATURDAY, JULY 12, 2 PM - 4 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM FREE

Southern Roots, a celebration of African and Southern influenced customs, will feature songs, stories, tastes of Southern food and more. Activities will include singers performing Negro spirituals from the Civil War and post-war eras. Storytellers will also tell tall-tales of the Old South. There will be games for children and even vintage baseball players talking about how Civil War soldiers played the game. Handweaving demonstrations are also scheduled.
 

Predators' Open House

 

SATURDAY, JULY 12, 10 AM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

Come out to the Bridgestone Arena for the Nashville Predators Open House starting at 10 am. There will be authentic used Predator equipment on sale at 12:30 pm along with Predator Pro Shop goods. Single game tickets go on-sale at noon and there will also be a select-a-seat event. Plus, there will be a free public skate hour from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm (bring your own skates) on the Bridgestone Area ice, appearances by Predator personalities and more! Enjoy free popcorn and soda while you watch the Predators Development Camp scrimmage at 3:30 pm. There will be a prospect autograph signing at 5:30 pm.

 

The Glo Run

 

SATURDAY, JULY 12, 8:45 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $50

The Glo Run comes alive with exciting colors and effects, plus music played by DJs along the course. Experience this 5K run/walk with extravagant music and lights, all while sporting a glow-in-the-dark shirt and glowing accessories. Note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, Symphony Place (1st Avenue South to 4th Avenue South), 4th Avenue South (Symphony Place to Molloy Street), Molloy Street (4th Avenue South to 1st Avenue South), 1st Avenue (Molloy Street to Union Street), Woodland Street (Union Street to South 2nd Street) and streets surrounding LP Field. Closures begin as early as 8:45 pm and end as late as 11 pm on Saturday, July 12. Click here for the complete route.

 

First Lutheran Vacation Bible School

LOCATION: CHURCH STREET PARK FREE

Plan ahead to visit Church Street Park on your lunch break and enjoy a picnic in the park! Live entertainment beginning at 11:30 am. Plus, food available for purchase from and Smoke Et Al and Moovers and Shakers from 11 am - 1:30 pm. Or, bring your own lunch and enjoy eating outdoors while listening to great live music. Shaded tables and chairs will be set up for this event.
