News & Information

New brewery and taproom: Czann's! 505 Lea Ave. ​615-748-1399​. Czann’s Brewing Company has a catalog of several ale recipes that are available year round and seasonally. The base and most of the specialty malts are supplied by Franco-Belges, one of the largest malteries in Europe. Hours of operation are Thursday and Friday, 4 pm - 8 pm, Sunday, noon - 6 pm and Saturday, noon - 8 pm. 

Events This Week

Summer of Street Food



Enjoy a gathering of 15 to 20 local food trucks to celebrate summer! Several of the trucks will introduce new menu items. This event takes place every other Thursday through August 21. Trucks will be parked on Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North.

Nashville Dancin': Lettuce



Nashville Dancin' presented by Dollar General brings local and national artists to the stage for a free summer concert series held every Thursday through July 31. Riverfront Park's grassy slopes provide natural stadium seating for all to enjoy the live music. Plus, a variety of local food trucks will be on-site. The lineup for Thursday, July 24 includes Lettuce, Space Capone and Sol Cat. Gates open at 5 pm and the music begins at 6 pm. Note: road closures are associated with this event. Closures include 1st Avenue (Broadway to Church Street). 


Pints & Puppets



Join Pints & Puppets for a fundraiser featuring String City. The evening begins at 6 pm with a reception featuring local brewery Black Abbey and delicious southern fare. The acclaimed puppet show, String City, begins at 7 pm. String City shares Nashville's tradition of music and puppetry by telling its musical legacy. Start with the early days of string band music and gospel music, and the birth of the Grand Ole Opry. Meet the icons of country music as the show travels through time with classic recordings that lead to present day hits. Over thirty country music artists appear in puppet form, each one with a hand in helping Nashville become Music City. This is a 21 and older event. 

Days of Summer: Sara Haze


Join the Renaissance Nashville Hotel for their "Days of Summer" series with cocktails, conversation and a performance by songwriter Sara Haze. A California native, Haze is a singer and songwriter who followed her music career to Nashville in 2011. She has had more than 100 film and TV placements including Safe Haven, The Hills, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and America's Next Top Model. Enjoy cocktails and food specials during this event.


Frist Fridays Concert Series: Marty Stuart


FRIDAY, JULY 25, 6 PM - 9 PM

Now in its 12th year, this exciting series takes place on the final Friday of June, July and August. Attendees are invited to enjoy an evening of live music, light snacks and beverages as well as the diverse exhibitions on view in the Frist Center’s galleries. With his photography exhibition "American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart" on display in the Conte Community Arts Gallery, country music icon Marty Stuart will also showcase his songwriting and musical talents on the stage with his band the Fabulous Superlatives. Stuart is a platinum recording artist, five-time Grammy Award winner and Grand Ole Opry star and member. "American Ballads: The Photographs of Marty Stuart" will be on display through November 2, 2014.


Music City Open Water Swim Benefiting Nashville Dolphins


SATURDAY, JULY 26, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

The Nashville Dolphins will host the first Music City Open Water Swim to benefit the Dolphins Aquatic Program. 400 and 1,500 meter courses will be offered. Check-in and packet pickup begin at 9 am, the races begin at 11 am. 

Littlebranch Farm Grand Opening



Come to the opening of the new Littlebranch Farm Gallery! The showroom is filled with a mixture of rustic and modern natural wood furniture, hand-made in Nashville. They also carry Terry Wilson's custom antler designs and American Dakota's custom rugs. During the Grand Opening, Hippie Radio will interview owner & artist Kelly Maxwell and broadcast live from the gallery. Light bites will be provided.

Music City Triathlon



The 5th Annual Music City Triathlon. Swim the Cumberland River (1.5k), bike through East Nashville (40k) on a completely closed and traffic-free Ellington Parkway, and run (10k) through downtown Nashville. There is also a shorter course option with a 400 meter swim, 20k bike, 5k run. Two and three person relay options are also available. Non-racers are encouraged to watch and cheer on the participants! Note: there will are road closures associated with this event. Portions of 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue South, Victory Lane, Titan's Way, Russell Street, Korean Veterans Boulevard, Union Street, Spring Street and Ellington Parkway will be affected. String City: Nashville's Tradition of Music and Puppetry


SATURDAY, JULY 26, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

An array of puppets chronicle the history of country music and how Nashville became Music City.  Created by Wishing Chair Productions. There are also two performances on Friday, July 25 from 10 am - 11 am and 11:30 am - 12:30 pm and another of Saturday, July 26 from 10 am - 11 am. Running time: 1 hour.

Predators' Hot Wing Face Off



Sample unlimited hot wings from the area's best wings restaurants and vote for Nashville's Best Hot Wing. The general admission ticket also gives access to a Predators regular season home game. 


Picnic in the Park


TUESDAY, JULY 29, 11:30 AM - 1 PM

Plan ahead to visit Church Street Park on your lunch break and enjoy a picnic in the park! Live entertainment beginning at 11:30 am. Plus, food available for purchase from Music City Pie Company and Moovers and Shakers from 11 am - 1:30 pm. Or, bring your own lunch and enjoy eating outdoors while listening to great live music. Shaded tables and chairs will be set up for this event.


American Idol Auditions



Are you the next American Idol? If you think you have what it takes to be the nation's next superstar then don't waste any time and audition for Season XIV. Men and women ages 15 - 28 are encouraged to come out on Wednesday, July 30 to the Municipal Auditorium for live auditions. Wristbands will be distributed beginning at approximately 7 am, however auditioners will not be permitted to camp out and may not line up before 6 am.

Modeling Opportunity

Nashville B-cycle and the Nashville Downtown Partnership need “models” to pose in photos on Friday, August 1. You do not have to be a professional model. We are seeking people who enjoy having their photo taken. This is a volunteer opportunity and is unpaid. If you are available on Friday, August 1 and would like to participate, please fill out this form. Final details about the day will be sent to you.
