Downtown Employee Appreciation Week!
Do you work in downtown Nashville? Join us for Employee Appreciation Week (Monday, August 25 - Friday, August 29) - for events scheduled each day! Activities and events include Walk with the Mayor (free lunch!), Nashville's Largest Coffee Break (free coffee!), Fresh and Local at the Nashville Farmers' Market, Party on the Plaza with the Preds and Nashville B-cycle, Corporate Tug-of-War and much more. Nashville Originals' Restaurant Week

THROUGH SUNDAY, AUGUST 24

This semiannual event sponsored by Nashville Originals, Restaurant Week is a great way to enjoy Nashville's unique local dining establishments. Participating downtown restaurants include Flyte World Dining and Wine, ProvencePuckett's Gro. & Restaurant, Rumours Wine Bar, Sole Mio and Watermark. These restaurants will feature special prices and menus throughout the week.

 

Live on the Green: The Head and the Heart

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 6 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

Enjoy live music outside in Public Square, located in front of the Metro Courthouse. This sixth annual concert series brings local and national artists to the stage. Blankets, folding chairs, strollers and water bottles are welcome at this free six-week concert series. The lineup for Thursday, August 21 includes Goodbye June, Wild Cub and headliner, The Head and the Heart. $5 parking available in the Metro Courthouse parking garage, located directly below the park, and at LP Field. Free bicycle parking with Walk/Bike Nashville. Please note: road closures associated with this event! 3rd Avenue North between Union Street and James Robertson Parkway and Union Street (two lanes of westbound traffic) from 3rd Avenue North to LP Field will be closed beginning at 1 pm on Thursday, August 21 and will reopen at midnight on Friday, August 22.

 

Summer of Street Food

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy the final Summer of Street Food event of the season! More than 15 local food trucks will line Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North.

 

Music Nights at The Hermitage Hotel

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
LOCATION: THE HERMITAGE HOTEL FREE

Enjoy Music Nights at The Hermitage Hotel, a twice monthly event held in the hotel's Performing Arts Suite. The series will feature the musical stylings of Americana band Sheriff Scott and the Deputies. Sea Cuisine Taco Bar

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, NOON - 6 PM
LOCATION: YAZOO BREWING COMPANY AND TAPROOM FREE

Visit the Sea Cuisine Taco Bar for free samples and to learn how to upgrade your taco night at home.

 

UQuest - The Urban Competition

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, 10 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: JOHN SEIGENTHALER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE $52 IN ADVANCE; $62 FINAL ENTRY

UQuest is part obstacle course, part scavenger hunt and part unknown. Teams of two to four will compete in this urban adventure that will have participants racing through downtown climbing rockwalls, walking balance beams, solving clues, completing missions and more. Registration includes a signature UQuest t-shirt and access to the after party including one drink ticket and food and drink specials. The start and finish line is located at the base (3rd Avenue South side) of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Click here for the complete route and to register.

 

Gulch Groove

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, 4 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: THE GULCH $10

Enjoy the final Gulch Groove of the summer! The event features live music, food from local restaurants and trucks, and a great beer selection. Tickets include two free beers. Heavy Sole, Magnolia Sons, The Future and Alanna Royale will perform. This block party is held on Gleaves Street and 9th Avenue South. Note: road closures associated with this event. Gleaves Street (8th Avenue South to 9th Avenue South) and 9th Avenue South (Division Street to Gleaves Street) will be closed beginning as early as 6 am on Saturday, August 23 to as late as 2 am on Sunday, August 24.

 

 

Nashville Pink Bridal Show

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 24, 11 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: MUSIC CITY CENTER $10

Meet the best local wedding professionals face-to-face and find the ones who share your vision for your special day. Many vendors will offer samples, coupons and budget-saving discounts. Also, bridal fashion shows, giveaways and live entertainment.

 

Oak Hill Travellers vs. Nashville Maroons: Vintage Base Ball

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 24, 2:30 PM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL FREE

This match of vintage base ball (it was two words in the 1860's) has been organized by the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. Players will use the rules, equipment, and costumes of the 1860's–1880's. Lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics are welcomed at this event. An additional match is set for noon on Sunday: Phoenix of East Nashville vs. Franklin Farriers.

 

Crescendo Club Kick-Off Event

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 25, 5:30 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER FREE

This season's kick-off event and reception for the Crescendo Club, a young professionals group for the Nashville Symphony. Complimentary wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres. Plus, enjoy tours of the symphony hall and an instrument petting zoo. Network with other young professionals and learn about the benefits of being a Crescendo Club member. Click here to RSVP.

 

Courtyard Concerts: Sant'Ambrogio

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 11:45 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

The library's hit music series continues. Bring a lunch to the library courtyard and enjoy free music by top acts in many genres every Tuesday through October 7. Classical cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio will perform on Tuesday, August 26.

 

Picnic in the Park

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 11 AM - 1:30 PM
LOCATION: CHURCH STREET PARK FREE

Head to Church Street Park on your lunch break and enjoy a picnic in the park! Live music by Noelle Larae beginning at 11:30 am. Plus, food available for purchase from food trucks Jonbalaya and Moovers and Shakers from 11 am - 1:30 pm. Or, bring your own lunch and enjoy eating outdoors while listening to great live music. Shaded tables and chairs will be set up for this event.

The Nashville Downtown Partnership celebrates 20 years of transforming downtown on Tuesday, September 23! Our 2014 Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon will be held at the Omni Nashville Hotel from noon to 1:30 pm. Register to attend this annual event.
