New bakery: The Peach Cobbler Factory!
9 Arcade. 615-592-5170. This new bakery features Southern-style fruit cobblers, pies, cinnamon rolls and cakes. All of their gourmet desserts are baked from scratch with locally sourced fresh fruit. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm.
New clothing and boot store: Boot Barn!
318 Broadway. 615-742-9780. Boot Barn, with more than 160 stores across the country, has opened its newest location on Broadway. Boot Barn is America's largest western and work wear store. This two-story location features a country music theme, complete with a stage for live performances. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 9 pm and Sunday, 11 am - 7 pm.
Boot Barn Grand Opening Weekend
In celebration of its grand opening, Boot Barn will host a full weekend of events beginning Thursday, October 23 through Sunday, October 26! Visit the store for free live performances, merchandise giveaways, special offers, an in-store appearance and autograph session with John Rich of Big & Rich, and more. Friday, October 24 will feature the official store ribbon cutting. The event will introduce the store's exclusive new clothing line "Moonshine Spirit by Brad Paisley." Special Event Road Closures
There will be several downtown road closures due to the Boswell's 20th Annual Toy Parade on Saturday, October 25. The ride begins and ends outside of downtown, but the route impacts the following downtown roads: Broadway (beginning west of downtown to 2nd Avenue), 2nd Avenue (Broadway to Union Street), Woodland Street (Union Street to South 2nd Street), South 2nd Street (Woodland Street to Shelby Avenue), Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (Shelby Avenue to 1st Avenue South) and 1st Avenue South (running south on to Hermitage Avenue and ending outside of downtown). Roads will be closed beginning as early as 1 pm and ending as late as 2 pm.
Events This Week

LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET $75
This second annual event will feature innovative and delicious interpretations of a traditional farmhand dinner, a time when farm workers would come together to celebrate a successful day in the fields. The evening is inspired by fifth generation NFM farmer Troy Smiley of Smiley's Farm along with the culinary talents of 11 local chefs. The event will begin with a traditional farmhand "water break" with signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The dinner portion will include select wine pairings with farmhand-style dinner service and live music by The Harmaleighs.

A 196-mile, team-oriented running event that will push participants through the birthplace of country music: Tennessee. The race begins in Chattanooga and ends in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

LOL Nashville presents their October comedy improv show on Friday, October 24 at The Rutledge. Two performances: 7 pm and 10 pm. A full bar and food menu will be available. Come early, grab a seat and enjoy dinner. Free parking available in the lot behind the venue (based on availability). It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as these shows typically sell out quickly.

Join Colombian Party Cartel for this special monthly installment of En Fuego, Nashville's largest Latin music party. Come dressed as a zombie-fied version of yourself or as whatever creepy, crazy, creative thing your heart desires. $100 cash prize for best costume.

Metro Water Services, the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation and the Tennessee Stormwater Association have teamed up to host the second annual Urban Runoff 5K. The run begins at Bicentennial Mall and weaves its way past several green stormwater management practices. Net proceeds from this event will benefit the Tennessee Stormwater Association. Saint Thomas Health Ministry presents its largest medical mission yet with its "Day of Hope, Healing & Health" on Saturday, October 25. Services provided at no cost include medical, dental and vision care, social services, spiritual care, medications by the Dispensary of Hope and more. No appointment necessary.

Black 13 Tattoo Parlor will host its second annual LIVE event on Saturday, October 25. Black 13 Tattoo artists and special guest artists will provide a series of custom-designed flash art for customers to choose from and will tattoo each piece on a first-come, first-served basis. Each tattoo will have a set price and 100% of the proceeds will support Women Rock for the Cure. Plus, a silent auction, live music, family-friendly activities and an after party at Cinco de Mayo in Cummins Station.

The Tennessee State Museum’s annual ghost story festival, Haunted Museum, will take place on Saturday, October 25. The 14th annual event features a “ghost trail” through the museum with chilling stories of Tennessee's past as well as prizes, crafts and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best costumes.
Enjoy Lightning 100's College Football Saturdays at Pour House Nashville. Every Saturday, Lightning 100 broadcasts live from 1 pm - 3 pm as you cheer on your favorite teams. Plus, delicious food, drink specials and giveaways — including the grand prize of two SEC Championship tickets. This event continues through December 6.
A celebration of two commonly appreciated Southern traditions: hearty food and distilled spirits. The event features 30 of Nashville’s best restaurants putting out their best bacon and BBQ dishes as well as a vast array of distilled spirits to savor. Participating downtown restaurants include Burger Republic, City Winery, The Farm House and Rodizio Grill. Plus, live country music and a cash bar (tickets include 15 bourbon samples).

The Gateway Chamber Orchestra performs two masterworks for orchestral winds. The music of Georges Enescu and Antonín DvoĆák captures the quintessential folk spirit of their native countries: Romania and Czechoslovakia. The orchestra will also perform Alec Wilder's "Serenade" which will provide a jazzy American counterpoint to a program of beautiful melodies and danceable rhythms.
