New special event venue: The Bell Tower!
400 4th Avenue South. 615-369-6474. This historic location, dating back to a church in 1874, has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind modern venue. The venue includes exposed beams, natural light, an upper level mezzanine, a full on-site kitchen, bridal lounges, and state-of-the-art light and sound. Accommodating seated dinners for up to 400 guests and cocktail-style receptions for 700 guests.

"Camelot" depicts the legend of King Arthur who rules his kingdom with new ideals, bringing peace to a troubled land. But when his new queen Guinevere and the dashing Sir Lancelot, his most trusted knight, give in to their passion for one another, one of the most fabled love triangles of all time ensues.

Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky was one of the major pioneers in the emergence of abstract painting. This lecture, presented in conjunction with the exhibit "Kandinsky: A Retrospective," will explore the cultural context in which Kandinsky worked and place the artist within this important historical moment. Presented by Dr. Linda Dalrymple Henderson, an expert in art history from the University of Texas.

Whether an out-of-towner or a lifelong local, runners will love this route that goes through some of Nashville's most beautiful and historic scenery in The Gulch, downtown, East Nashville and other neighborhoods. Half or full marathon course option available, as well as a 5K route. Following the run, participants will be rewarded with music, food and complimentary Michelob Ultra at the Hard Rock Cafe's block party. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Roads along the course will be closed beginning as early as 7 am until as late as 2 pm on Saturday, November 8. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 10 AM - 6 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE TO ATTEND
Crafts & Drafts is a free event showcasing more than 70 craft vendors. Local craft beer vendors will be on-site as well so you can sip as you shop. Plus, numerous food options will be available for purchase.
Enjoy a screening of "40 Years on The Farm," a film detailing life at a communal settlement in Middle Tennessee that gained popularity during the 1970s. A presentation and book signing with the film's assistant producer Douglas Stevenson will follow. The event is held in conjunction with the museum's current exhibit "Tennessee's Intentional Communities: Examining the Farm, Nashoba, Rugby and Ruskin," a look at four unique social living experiments that existed in the state over the past 180 years.
Following the release of their first record together, the sophisticated, genre-busting banjo duo Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn will offer an intimate evening of music. This special hometown performance will feature new tracks from the album as well as individual favorites that span each musician’s history.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9, NOON - 4 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE
Join Mayor Karl Dean for his fourth annual 5K. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of age or fitness level. The race is free, but advanced registration is encouraged. Activities and registration begin at noon. The Kids' Fun Run (ages 12 and younger, .75 miles) begins at 2 pm and the 5K (3.1 miles) begins at 2:15 pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least one hour before their start time. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Closures will begin as early as noon and end as late as 4 pm on Sunday, November 9. Free parking for this event is available in LP Field Lot F. Plus, Nashville MTA will provide free transportation on all buses for participants traveling to and from the 5K event.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9, REGISTRATION: 1 PM; RACE BEGINS: 2 PM
LOCATION: YAZOO BREWING COMPANY AND TAPROOM $50/TEAM
Yazoo's 4th Annual Big Wheel Championship will be held at 915 Division Street in The Gulch (across from the brewery). Co-ed teams of four are randomly bracketed and will compete in team relays against one another until a winner is declared. Registration includes each team's race entry, team shirts, the first beverage of the day and more. The event is free to attend and $50 to compete.
The Williamson County Youth Orchestra, a group of more than 100 high school musicians led by conductor Anna Maria Miller, will perform a Veterans' Day Tribute Concert on Sunday, November 9 at War Memorial Auditorium. Nashville celebrity Harry Chapman will emcee the event. The concert is free and open to the public.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 8 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: OMNI NASHVILLE HOTEL $25 REGISTRATION FEE PLUS FUNDRAISING ELEMENT; FREE FOR SPECTATORS
Join the Shatterproof Challenge and rappel off the side of the Omni Nashville Hotel to raise awareness and funding for the prevention, treatment and recovery of addiction patients. No prior rappelling experience necessary. All equipment will be provided and participants will have an expert training session before the event, as well as be guided by experts during the event. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 11 AM
This annual event is one of the South's largest Veterans' Day parades. The family-friendly celebration honors Nashville's military community and includes floats, antique cars, local military groups and supporters, local businesses and charities, and nearby high schools' marching bands. The parade begins at 14th Avenue and Broadway and continues down to 3rd Avenue and Broadway. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Rolling road closures along Broadway from 14th Avenue to 3rd Avenue, plus portions of 3rd Avenue and other streets for staging and disbanding. Closures begin as early as 9:30 am and will finish as late as 1 pm.
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge will celebrate its 54th birthday with a Broadway street party hosted by NASH-FM's Blair Garner. Live music all day by Terri Clark, Chuck Wicks, Darryl Worley, Randy Houser, Tracy Lawrence, Troy Gentry and more. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Broadway (4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) will be closed as early as 11 pm on Tuesday, November 11 until as late as 5 am on Thursday, November 13.

Free Frist Admission with Food Donations
The Frist Center for the Visual Arts will offer free admission to guests bringing non-perishable food items to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee through December 2014. The items most needed by Second Harvest this year are peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta and cereal.
Large groups and events (500+ attendees) that are downtown November 5 - 19, 2014 include the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (2,000, November 3 - 9), Hard Rock Cafe's 1/2 and Full Marathon (1,500, November 8), Jamfest: Cheer and Dance Competition (2,000, November 8), EMS World (3,000, November 9 - 14), Hiring Our Heroes Veterans' Job Fair (750, November 15 - 18), NCA/NDA Nashville Classic: Cheer and Dance Competition (2,500, November 16), 2014 Global South Summit (600, November 16 - 19), Nashville Auto Show (5,000, November 17 - 24) and MacDon Industries Ltd.
