New restaurant: Prima!
Terrazzo. 700 12th Avenue South. 615-873-4232. Prima serves contemporary European cuisine infused with South American and Latin flavors. Choose from seasonal selections of wood fired bone-in meats, whole-roasted fish, and local poultry and vegetables, all with an exotic twist. Hours of operation are Sunday - Thursday, 5 pm - 11 pm and Friday - Saturday, 5 pm - midnight.


New restaurant: Two Guys in a Lunch Box Cafe and Bakery!
12 Arcade. 615-953-7651. This business began as a food truck and has now opened a brick and mortar cafe inside the Arcade. Menu items include artisan melts on fresh homemade bread, soups and salads. Plus, local craft beer (pints and growlers) coming soon. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 5:30 pm.

America Recycles Day

LOCATION: FIFTH THIRD CENTER FREE

In honor of this year's America Recycles Day, the Nashville Downtown Partnership and Sims Recycling Solutions are hosting a collection event to ensure old, unused electronics are securely and responsibly recycled. Items accepted at this event include laptops, printers, speakers, keyboards, mice, MP3 players, DVD/CD players, cell phones, CPUs, servers, hard drives and more. Click here for a full list of accepted items.

 

Wine Tasting & Silent Auction

 

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET $60 IN ADVANCE; $70 AT THE DOOR

The Nashville Farmers' Market will host the 17th annual d'Vine Selections Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. The event will include more than 100 types of wine, hors d'oeuvres courtesy of local restaurants and music by renowned jazz musician Denny Jiosa. Plus, a silent auction featuring exclusive trips, collectibles, tickets to upcoming events and more. Each guest will receive a commemorative d'Vine Selections etched wine glass. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville.

 

Salon@615: Garth Stein & Glyn Johns

The Nashville Public Library will present two Salon@615 events this week. On Friday, November 14, American author and film producer Garth Stein will discuss his latest novel, "A Sudden Light." Glyn Johns, producer and engineer on several of rock 'n' roll's classic albums with artists such as The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Beatles, will visit on Tuesday, November 18. Johns will speak about his memoir "Sound Man." A book signing will follow each event.

 

Wine Dinner at Frothy Monkey

NCC Annual Champagne Tasting

High Fashion Runway Model Casting Call

An open casting call for high fashion runway models. Interested participants must be 21 years old and at least 5-foot-7. The casting call is for an upcoming Nashville show featuring Baron Siamanto Levon, a third generation haute couture fashion designer. Movember Stache Bash

Each November, thousands of men across the U.S. don mustaches to raise funds and awareness for men's health, specifically cancers that affect men. The Stache Bash provides the opportunity for Movember participants to showcase their hard work as well as promote the cause. This fourth annual event will include food and brews, with all proceeds benefiting the Movember Foundation.

 

American Cancer Society's Brunch Bash

 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 11 AM - 2 PM

The American Cancer Society is hosting its inaugural Brunch Bash in Nashville on Sunday, November 16. The event includes samples of favorite brunch items from numerous local restaurants, fun and games, drinks and live entertainment. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society's mission.

Celebrating 200 Years at Downtown Presbyterian Church

 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 4 PM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FREE

Nashville's oldest active church, First Presbyterian Church, is celebrating its 200th anniversary with a special service downtown on Sunday, November 16. The service will be held at Downtown Presbyterian Church, where it was previously located before separating and moving in 1955. Both congregations are coming together for a joint worship service to commemorate the anniversary. A reception will follow. Free parking in the lot across the street.

 

Nashville URA November Meeting

The Book of Mormon
